Pretty soon, White Bay came into view...

 

And, we're getting really close now. You can get pretty close to shore, but you still have to walk through the water to get on the beach. That's where the Soggy Dollar got it's name...

We interrupt this broadcast for our current position, pulling out of the bay at Road Town... One of the most scenic sail aways ever...

So, we arrived at White Bay, and I took a couple of shots before I descended the stairs...

So, now we're on the beach, walking left towards the Soggy Dollar...

The Soggy Dollar was packed, so we kept walking further down towards the end of the beach...

They still had the star by Veuve Clicquot, so I ordered a bottle here at Ocean Blue... He tried to steer me towards something else, but I just pointed to the star on the menu... I guess they haven't gotten around to reprinting them yet...

Blazing shrimp and the upcharge tiger shrimp cocktail...

I just saw a couple of orders of the regular shrimp cocktail go by, and they were about 80% as big as the upcharge ones...

The Soggy Dollar was packed, so we went further down to Seddys One Love Bar...

We ordered a couple of painkillers... Spoiler alert: they were better than the ones we would have later on at the Soggy Dollar...

We have done this excursion twice with NCL a while back. It was awesome. Back when we did it the excursion was 6 hours with at least 4 hours on the beach. How much time do you get now on the beach?

For whatever reason, the entire text that I just spent ten minutes writing disappeared... Here's a couple of giant lobsters that a guy brought out... Little did they know that they were about to become lunch...

 

And, the bottom photo. One of the only places where it's perfectly acceptable to be barefoot...

Back to Ocean Blue... Ciopino... (Seafood soup)

And, Brussels sprouts.

 

While this was uploading, I had a chance to taste some of the items... I'm going to be honest with you. There were two pretty large chunks of lobster in the ciopino, but they were so tough that I just chewed on them for a minute then spit them out in my napkin... Just an observation. The broth itself is spectacular...

Only a few very small morsels of lobster in the mac and cheese...

 

Edit to add: I found a bigger chunk, but it was as tough as the ciopino...

I just got back to the cabin from dinner, and tonight the clocks go back an hour to Eastern time... That means that 8:28 just became 7:28... I'm already tired from the sun and drinking all day, but I don't want to go to bed that early... I made the transition from rum to tequila to shots at Vibe, and then champagne... I don't even know what I could drink next to make it better or, possibly worse...

When we left off in JVD, we had just ordered some painkillers at Seddys, and the food order was in. It took a good thirty or fourty minutes or so for it to come out... Seems like a long time for a sandwich and a quesadilla, but they're on "island time" here. Soon enough, it finally arrived, and it started to rain. Luckily, we had a table underneath the roof, so didn't really affect us at all. Oh yeah, the food...

 

In America, if you ordered a twenty dollar quesadilla and they brought you this, you'd probably call the manager, but in the BVI everything costs more, especially everyday items like cheese and bread. It did hit the spot, and we ordered a couple of bushwhackers. A rum drink that's kinda like a milkshake.
