Rare Mary229 Posted December 20, 2019 #26 Share Posted December 20, 2019 The OBC is worth it for us as in many years it doubles the dividend yield. As Kazu said it is tax free too! I don’t think a 100 shares of any stock is going for disrupt anyone’s investment plan.
Rare Gail & Marty sailing away Posted December 20, 2019 #27 Share Posted December 20, 2019 The numbers were good.
Alberta Quilter Posted December 21, 2019 #28 Share Posted December 21, 2019 I've been keeping track of my dividends and OBC since I purchased several years ago. I will be "in the black" with our next cruise in Feb/20! It's been a great investment for me!
Taseko Posted December 21, 2019 #29 Share Posted December 21, 2019 I am at Elite now and never thought about the stocks until recently. Wishing I had known more about them earlier. (Stock was waffling around mid $40’s last week.) I am booked on a 29 day cruise in the Fall and have only paid my refundable deposit so far. If I purchased stock prior to the May payment deadline, would I qualify for OBC on this cruise?

Yes, you only have to send (or fax) evidence of owning the stock so that it is RECEIVED 14 days before sailing date. You have plenty of time! Taseko Posted December 21, 2019 #31 Share Posted December 21, 2019 Thank you! Maybe, if I am really good, Santa will put some in my stocking??
Rare FlaMariner Posted December 26, 2019 #32 Share Posted December 26, 2019 Our CCL stock experience.... Bought 100 shares for $33 in 2013...so it's up 54%....that's 9% a year......With a dividend rate of 3.93% and if you add in the OBC, it's been a great investment. If stocks are in your investment wheelhouse, it's a no brainer to include 100 shares of CCL if you cruise often. (Of course, current performance is no indicator of future performance....and your mileage may vary....as they say)
Stateroom_Sailor Posted December 26, 2019 #33 Share Posted December 26, 2019 We purchased earlier this year at $55 per share, in our Roth IRA, at 40 years old. We're set to earn $300 obc in 2020, $350 in 2021. I believe this is going to pay off in the long run no matter what the stock does.
Rare Gail & Marty sailing away Posted December 26, 2019 #34 Share Posted December 26, 2019 We also bought it in our 40s and have collected over 50 times 😀
