What a Deal....!!!

Just saw Royal's great Deals offer for our 2 upcoming cruises.  For a limited time, Their Deluxe Beverage Package & VOOM One Device on Sale for "Over 30% Off Onboard Prices" at $70/day.  That means their normal price is $100/day.

That costs more per day than cruise itself....

What a Deal!!!

I don't think that has ever been reported, yet. RCI just makes up numbers, even for cabin prices, to make customers feel good when they get xx% off.

Base rate on Adventure last week was $65 per day, drink pkg only.

The onboard price of the drink package and the VOOM probably is $100 per day (at least with the gratuity added).   If someone wants both, then it probably is a deal.  Since anything pre-purchased can be re-priced or cancelled, and if someone wants both, don't really see the harm in purchasing it in case the prices don't come down.

Onboard price is most likely correct. The drink package on some ships is $75. And the internet is $25/day surf & stream for 1 device. That doesn’t include the 18% grats on the drink package.

Don't know where RC comes up with these numbers.  Drink package for our March cruise is $19 a day more than our New Years cruise.

Honestly it's just demographics for a given sailing and demand - or their best guess at what demand will be.

 

New Years cruises are not so packed with college aged students... March/spring break cruises are. They're either using price as a deterrent to excessive drinking (not likely) or thinking they can charge more because of their audience that given week (more likely).

My guess. Lots of parents on those spring break cruises need the drink packages to cope with all those kids!
