RCCLNYMETS41 Posted December 22, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2019 Asking for friends taking their 1st cruise ever. Allure of the Seas January 5, 2020 I have been on 16 cruises with Royal, including Allure when it 1st came out, & more recently with Oasis & Harmony, so I am overall familiar with Oasis class ships. I just don't remember a few things... -does the Allure have the Way-Finders throughout the ship? -besides the shows that were available for pre-booking, are there other shows during the week that you just walk I to? (I remember on Harmony there was an extra ice & aqua theater show, and there was a hypnotist in the Royal theater on Oasis (and I am asking about shows as opposed to the Royal Promenade shows & dances like 70s night) -are the days of the week on the elevator floor? Thank you in advance for any help. I'm sure I will have more questions soon
cb at sea Posted December 23, 2019 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2019 Yes...all ships have maps throughout...not hard to find your way around. On ships this large, making reservations is a good idea, but it's not impossible to see a show that you haven't reserved. There are always "walk-in" spaces available...tell them to get there early, tho. Yes...all ships have the days on the elevator floor. A tip...don't "talk it up" too much...let your 1st timers discover the joys of cruising on their own! I've found the more you tell them, the less they enjoy...so let THEM figure it out!
taglovestocruise Posted December 23, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2019 Yes, Wayfinder on most decks near elevators. Every show has a non reservation line for those with no reservations or just want to see the same show a second time. Movies on the big screen in the Aqua show area are just walk up/in without reservations. I can't remember what the show was but there was a extra show in studio B that was no reservations. happy cruising to your friends, Allure is a great way to start a cruise obsession. MD_Dan Posted December 23, 2019 #4 Share Posted December 23, 2019 Hello, We just got off Allure on 12/15. It was amazing. Ask more questions if you think of others. -does the Allure have the Way-Finders throughout the ship? Yes, they are near the elevators. Take some time now and get an idea of what is on every deck (and try and remember forward, mid or aft). To get one end of the ship to another, you have several options. Maybe the least desirable is to go through the Casino (it is very smokey). The next worst is to go down a long hallway of cabins (its just boring). The better paths are the Pool deck, Central Park or the Promenade. Those three are much better choices. -besides the shows that were available for pre-booking, are there other shows during the week that you just walk I to? (I remember on Harmony there was an extra ice & aqua theater show, and there was a hypnotist in the Royal theater on Oasis (and I am asking about shows as opposed to the Royal Promenade shows & dances like 70s night). They had an extra night for the Comedians in Comedy Live. The piano guy was just so -so but the jazz improv guys were very good. There was a 70s night and I think something about Michael Jackson. The High Cs (RCL brass band) was very good and appeared in different forms throughout the week. Karoeke was good, at times. A band played on the pool deck and in Bolaros. There was even a botanist talking about the plants in Central Park! In general, the level of professional entertainment was up a knotch or two from smaller ships. -are the days of the week on the elevator floor? Yes. There is so much going on that you will certainly wish you had a B2B! Dan
LaskoGlitter Posted December 23, 2019 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2019 Not to take over the thread, just a quick question: is deck 6 a "bad" deck, like as far as noise is concerned?

Except for the comedy club. Make reservations or you likely won't get in. The venue is tiny and every time there is a crowd of people outside who didn't make reservations hoping to get in, but they don't make it.

I've stayed in an inside on Lady A a few years ago and found the room very well placed, quiet and fairly decent in size! The only thing i noticed was the doors for some adjacent cabins were literally next to each other, so when the people in the next cabin let the door close, it reverberated through the cabin - even more so if they left the latch on (think metal on metal)
RCCLNYMETS41 Posted December 23, 2019 Author #9 Share Posted December 23, 2019 On allure, is decks seven aft by the elevators the same as on oasis as far as you cannot walk from port to starboard due to the boardwalk sign below?

Thank you in advance for any help. I'm sure I will have more questions soon Hi we shall all be in the same place on the 5th. We are on the sailing as well. Have you checked out the roll call? For sure the elevator floor will always tell you what day it is. Our first sailing on the Allure, we have done Oasis and Symphony in this class. Deck 8 is the best deck for most cabins on Oasis class because you have the Central Park for food and drinks and a nice stroll going forward to aft or vice verse. We have done most of our O class cruises on deck 8 including the upcoming. jc
RCCLNYMETS41 Posted December 25, 2019 Author #15 Share Posted December 25, 2019 Do you receive your SeaPass card at check in, or is it outside your cabin? Is the photo gallery all digital now, or do they still put out physical pictures to go through?
Rare BirdTravels Posted December 26, 2019 #16 Share Posted December 26, 2019 One outside your cabin. The rest inside your cabin. All digital.
Rare xpcdoojk Posted December 26, 2019 #17 Share Posted December 26, 2019 It was as BirdTravels said on my last cruise on the Ovation. Not sure about Allure. jc
