New Year's Adventure on the Ventura

Thanks Andy,

I like to read the blogs of passagers before I go on a cruise, so try to return the favour.

 

Except I am not a very consistent blogger 😉

 

Not a great start as my flight has been delayed.

 

Luckily I have booked my bus to Southampton for the afternoon.

Don't worry about my journey Damian, I could walk there in 20 minutes... 😊

Traffic is heavy but moving today, so hopefully Kerry will be fine.

I chip in with the odd update but am useless at giving a consistent summary, so thank you for taking the time out to keep us informed.

Our daughter is doing the opposite trip to you Kerry. 

She is spending New Year in Cork but has just landed in Dublin, flying from Bournemouth. 

She is doing a bit of an Irish tour. 

So if the cat needs feeding or anything... 😊

No priority boarding for me 😢

 

But I did notice in Stansted Airport that they have a luggage storage place between Burgar King and Costa's.

 

I thought this might be useful information.

currently travelling through London heading to Victoria Station to catch my bus to Southampton 😊🚍

Thanks for the kind wishes I will let you know how I am getting on.

 

I didn't bother with the WiFi packages so will update on the days we are in port.

I am owned by a cat, she has other minions to do her bidding, so will survive the week I am away.

Hello! We are going to Ventura tomorrow from London. 

Do you know what time Ventura is departing Southampton? 

The boarding time for me is 15-30, but I see in cruise mapper.com that the ship is going way at 16-30.

4.30 is the official sailing time. 

Arrive early, they will get you on as quickly as possible with no negativity. 

The port staff like to get everyone on before the coaches arrive. 

The only slight downside is your cabin may not be ready so keep hand luggage to a minimum and enjoy the rest of the ship. 

Have a great time, see you onboard.

We stayed in Jury's Inn. The beds were comfortable and the shower was good.

 

I would recommend it.

Nice Hotel, not one that usually gets mentioned for pre cruise stays. 

Sitting here all packed waiting for our lift down. 

Very excited.
