Oasis from Cape Liberty this summer

We are sailing Oasis of the Seas out of Cape Liberty on August 1, 2020.  Ports of call include Port Canaveral, Miami, Perfect Day at Coco Cay, and Nassau.  This is an 8 day cruise - all others out of Bayonne all summer seem to be only 7 days and NOT including a stop at Miami.  Does anyone know why this week is different and including Miami?  Is anything going on special in Miami?  It just seems odd, but we selected this date to have one extra day on the Oasis.

The ship is just changing from a Saturday-Saturday to Sunday-Sunday schedule.

 

What special would happen in Miami? It's just a different sailing. Nothing more or less to the story.

We are also on that cruise.  Like the extra day for the family to enjoy the ship.  Nothing exciting about stopping in Miami.

Why not? It's a wonderful city to explore with plenty to do.

We spend three months a  year in Florida.  Know Miami well.  Other than a few favorite restaurants, nothing there excites us.

It's because the Celebrity Summit will be repositioning to Boston after two TA cruises (one leaving from Cape Liberty on Sunday August 2nd) and not returning to Cape Liberty. Oasis will then switch over to a Sunday-Sunday schedule, as stated in post #2.

And there is the answer. We are only seeing the outside of this multi-billion dollar company managing the logistics of over 25 ships with 10's of thousands of passengers. There is usually a good business reason to what seems like madness to us.

Unless it's in March.  Plenty of "madness" on the big screen.

They are doing this to switch from Saturday to Sunday departures. I called RCL about that sailing as well. 😀
