Move Over Offer?

I bet they upgraded whoever had your new inside stateroom to your old balcony to save you from being pissed! Win for you and win for the people who got upgraded! (If that’s what happened)

Either way, I’m glad you feel better about your cruise and will hopefully have a much better time than you did on the Crown!

Just wondering -- if you booked the cruise with a TA, would a move over offer go through them or be emailed directly to you?   We got one years ago but had booked directly with Princess.  Our upcoming cruise is now listed as sold out so wondering if there will be any offers.  If the offer goes through the TA,  we might not get it soon enough though.....

I asked the same question on another thread, mainly because my TA told me that they are too busy to pass these offers along to their clients.  What??  Well, I still like that TA but I do use them less than I have in the past.  My first question when I use a TA now is their process and time frame of passing these offers along if I book with them.

Anyway, in answer to your question, I received several different answers ... I guess it all depends on how it goes out from Princess.  Basically, the move over offers could be sent directly to you or just to your TA.  There was no consensus on how it was done 100% of the time but, it the true move over offers (move you to another sailing).  I can only tell you that the only time I've ever received an upsell or a moveover offer is when I booked directly with Princess.  It's happened only on the 3 sailings on which I had direct bookings with Princess ... out of many cruises on that line alone.  My schedule is very flexible and I live right near an embarkation port so ... I would love to see more of these offers ... even if it means booking directly through Princess every time!

I did receive one downgrade offer from Princess back in the early mid 90's ... that's the last time I ever saw that offer.

Thank you.   I just remembered she did pass along an up sell offer to us on a previous cruise--an upgrade from balcony to mini-suite for more money.   We passed on it.  Interesting though that you only got offers when you booked directly with Princess.

Really big agencies and the "big box" stores don't forward offers.

Yes, I suspected as much.  Didn't book with them, although we may in the future if their perks are better.   Thanks.

Here's something I've wondered about - would appreciate if someone hearing from anyone who has had this type of offer & the outcome.  We were sailing a few months ago (on a "free" casino rate) and got the move down offer (fare refunded as OBC, etc.).  We didn't take the offer, but I'm curious what the OBC would have been (what we paid to upgrade to the balcony OR the full cruise fare as shown on our summary which included the amount that the casino picked up).  Anybody experienced this?

I have received upsell offers for pretty much every cruise that I've been on for the last couple of years and that's probably a dozen cruises which involved moving from a mini suite to a full suite.  I have also received one true moveover offer.  All of these offers went to my TA and all required a callback, not an email response.  My TA has swiftly forwarded each of these offers to me.

I’ve only ever had one upsell offer and that was on the only cruise I have ever booked directly with Princess. I’ve never seen an upsell offer come through my TA.

On my last cruise, which was booked through a TA, I did get a move over offer which came directly from Princess.

I’ve had exactly 1 zero cost upgraded cruise and that was booked through my TA and they did call me to inform me about the upgrade. 2 minis to 2 full suites! 🙂

I have had upsell offers forwarded to me by my TA.
