It's official now:

Q: Does this offer apply retroactively to previously canceled bookings made by guests?
A: No. This offer ONLY applies to active bookings as of March 13, 2020 at 3:00 PM EST and does not apply to any previously canceled bookings, regardless of reason for cancelation.
Q: Does this offer apply retroactively to previously canceled Peace of Mind bookings made by guests?
A: No. This offer only applies to active bookings as of March 13, 2020 at 3:00 PM EST and does not apply to any previously canceled bookings, regardless of reason for cancelation. Guests who previously opted to cancel and take advantage of our Peace of Mind policy will be protected under those terms.

Can you please post the link to your source. I went to NCL's website and see nothing new since the 13th. Thank you.

I called and was told the FCC can be applied to the amount of your final payment...... not just base cruise fare.  Were you told differently?

Yes...my TA said that NCL informed him that it would only be able to be applied to the base fare, and not any of the other fees/gratuities associated with the cruise; hopefully you are right and he is wrong

Adorable. You are thinking it was appropriate for those of us on the 3/14 to 3/15 cruises to fly or travel against federal and state recommendations so we could wait and see what NCL would do?

Not at all and it sucks what is happening to those who got 100% FCC....... what is adorable is everyone thinking NCL is conspiring against you and your fellow cruisers.

Actually I don't think that the poor souls manning the phones have any conspiracy against angry customers, but I most definitely believe that FDR and the corporate types are trying to craft a policy that gives the bare minimum to customers, and provide the biggest possible return for their shareholders.  I am guessing you must hold more shares than the rest of us, but I kinda empathize with customers at this point.

Nothing wrong with this. That's their job.

I absolutely sympathize (can't emphasize because I'm not in their shoes).... I absolutely think the whole thing sucks for everyone..... passengers, crew, vendors, dock workers, port locations, etc...... the cruise lines (not just FDR) and sporting venues and Walt Disney World and casinos and all the other people who are impacted by this.  It absolutely sucks.

But for the love of all things sacred....... stop freaking whining because you (not you specifically) didn't get 25% when Paul and Diane and Tony did.

What is adorable, em(whatever else) is you advocating against people following the suggestions of the United States of America to NOT travel...

Those of us who followed the suggestions in an attempt to flatten the curve...

We should be PUNISHED while NCL sat with their thumb up their butt?? Said differently....

we went ahead and travelled with our middle finger out on 3-13 or 3-14 and now we are sick too just because NCL wouldn’t do the right thing and offer the same policy to

those who cancelled a day later?

please.

Thanks. I tend to follow the rules as designated by the government to which I subscribe... but I appreciate your support regardless. Don’t need it. But appreciate it. 😅

Half way down it specifically says about previously cancelled cruises.

Not sure if this helps

This link has nothing about what the last poster was asking. Where It talks about previous cruise's it is talking about cruise's that were cancelled before any of the offers including the March 10th offer. Someone must have the right link.

This is totally strange. You are getting something different than I.  I have the same link you shared. Your shared link and mine go the same NCL FAQ page for their Peace of Mind FAQ's.  But the Q&A's I see are slightly different. Your links seems to deal more with the new cancelled cruise policy.

I spoke with numerous NCL reps today and was encouraged by more then one rep to fill out the "Guest Relations form" it is located under the contact us section on NCL's website. It seems that this is having an impact with the higher ups at NCL and it is being talked about. I hope this helps, good luck to all.

This is exactly what I was told, get out there and start filling out those guest relations forms people.

I feel deflated. After close to a year of planning and anticipating the wedding of my niece in NOLA, followed by a trip on the Getaway, everything I carefully planned for is a mess. I was glad when the peace of mind policy came out, felt relieved that at least I had a option. Had pretty much decided to skip the cruise but was waiting to see what NCL would do closer to our departure on March 29, and to keep the phone lines open for those with more immediate sailing dates. Had been wrestling with skipping cruise and heading down for just the wedding. Go by air? Go by car so didn't get stuck if airports closed? This weekend my niece decided to postpone until fall. She has a mess to untangle and replan, but it gives us all - grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins - peace of mind... Haven't decided yet if I will take the FCC or refund. We are NCL gold, but cruise on many different lines. Just glad I have a choice and am not going to lose all the funds - unless they go bankrupt - and am not expected to get on the ship with the uncertainty with this virus.

Screen shot these types of sentiments too, friends.... truer words have never been spoken. “That’s their job” has been an excuse for a multitude of sins in our history.

Three major cruise ports, LA, NYC, and Seattle are heavily involved in this. I don't think any of them are going to want a repeat of the Carnival Princess adding to their problems. The industry shutdown is currently voluntary (except for the Canadian problem), but with DeBlasio talking about a lockdown, and saying this could go on into the Fall, the shutdown might not be voluntary for much longer. Nor of short duration. We could be seeing the end of the US 2020 season entirely.

I am sorry for you but also thankful that you have the choice to take a refund. Congratulations to your niece and your family on the upcoming wedding 💓

Totally not whining about that at all....haven't even mentioned it.  Technically my cruise is still on, though I doubt it will ever actually sail.  My complaint has been, and would continue to be, about (1) trying to limit how you use a FCC that you already paid for...if they are holding the money for it, you should be able to apply it as well; (2) the fact they literally went in and jacked up rates on Friday night, in order to devalue the amount of the FCC they are offering and (3) seeming to word all this like a cable contract rather than something a whole lot simpler.  Example....Viking went ahead and offered pretty much what NCL did just a couple days later; over 90% took the FCC.  Why, especially since people shelled out a whole lot more money for a Viking cruise than what most people do on NCL?  Because NCL has this insidiously stupid tendency to legalize even the simplest things, wait until the last possible moment to do the right thing, to the point where doing the right thing comes off looking bad.

This. And this. And this.

Again...screen shots, friends. Assuming NCL doesn’t do the right thing (which remains to be seen), you’ve got a lot of information from personal experiences here on this highly public forum.

No one. Absolutely no one is immune to doing the right thing. Not even NCL. Looking in my crystal ball, I foresee lots of change in the future regarding NCL and their policies.

Riddle me this... how do you pretend to advocate for the safety, health, and well being  of your passengers, while waiting to cancel affected cruises PAST the time when the CDD and Department of State have advised US citizens not to cruise?

How do you pretend you have your customers best interests in mind when you wait until customers have travelled against state and federal regulations and are literally at your front door.

If they did travel despite the entrie world recommendations not to, they could avail themselves of policies enacted hours later.

That’s very short sighted.
