It would seem that his priorities are with his work. Having worked in a similar area a court case means he could lose his job if he does not attend. It also depends on him having to see his mother . Is there a problem with her health or such that he has to see her early in the day?

If you look further back you’ll see that his Mum has been in hospital. It only takes a minute to make a quick phone call to see if she’s ok.

Spot on .  When Mrs K had a big op a few years back ,our lad was up and down

the UK in his waggon sleeping out .

Even if it was just 2 minutes ,he made time until he was back in the area.

A beautiful day here, the location of which I am sure some will be able to identify.

His mum is ill and since his dad and sister both died last November she was only just starting to get back to normal.  I know that he had to go to court to support the client this morning but I cannot see any reason why he can't ask for compassionate time.  It is time he grew up and put his mum ahead of people who are making little effort to turn their lives around.

You Josy have provided fantastic support to your family. Some people don’t have any support at all. That’s all I have to say.

That's no excuse for not contacting is Mum who has just come out of hospital. Surely he can find time somewhere to send a text or make a quick call.

I always wondered what that mark was called. I have never studied Spanish (it extends to please, thank you, ordering drinks or food and where is the toilet!)

Today we walked Llwybr Clywedog. My new “waterproof” walking shoes failed, I learned a new skill in herding sheep off the path away from the dogs and we got completely drenched. It was totally worth it, even the walk back up the steep valley wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

Just for information our “local” eg miles away M&S food hall has started selling pretty decent 1.5 litre wine bags. Perfect to meet the new rules for drinks on P&O.

@Megabear2 we love Orkney.

Skara Brae is up there with the Pyramids in my humble opinion.

Did you try some Scappa, better then Highland Park.

Looks like the weather is behaving better as well. Enjoy your cruise.

Yes, I tried both and bought a small bottle if each.  I gather Scappa is more for the locals.  Highland Park Distillery closed to yours due to a new floor being laid at present.

The weather is absolutely gorgeous, tee shirts apart from Scappa Flow where I popped a sweater on.

I thought the whole place totally magical.

Oh dear. I hope he realises that is a joke, and not nasty

I'm sure he won't. He had major problems getting off the ship this morning - the story was quite horrendous.  Unfortunately Queen Anne isn't proving very disability friendly.

Yes Orcadians tend to prefer Scappa (as do I). Not that I would knock Highland Park which also has some great drams but more commercial.

You have had a busy day and seen most of the best places of interest by the looks.
