Hope all goes well Josy.

I am waiting for a new great grandson to arrive.  He already has a name, Riley

There has been at least one false alarm this week, so it wont' be long.

Tomorrow eight of the family are meeting up for lunch in a loud Italian Restaurant in Rochester, then a visit to the Cathedral.   I was amazed to see that mum to be is coming, even after false alarms.

I hope it doesn't all happen in the restaurant.   How times change.  I don't think I would  have been off socialising and walking around town when my two were born. But then again we didn't go out so much then, especially to restaurants.

I have a feeling in my bones it's going to be tonight😃

I just wanted to thank @Eglesbrech for all the help and advice for today's port call in South Queensferry.  Unfortunately the weather didn't play ball and we were very late in being allowed off as the water was difficult for the tenders.  Unfortunately I did not manage to get off until around 1.30pm so all the bug plans for longer trips were rather kiboshed.  However I did get a great taxi driver who took me on a lovely scenic drove around and I was also able to go to a real non tourist shop for some lovely souvenirs for myself and the family, all actually made in Scotland with not a China label in sight.

I also got to sample a few drams of various types.  Overall had a great day and although only for a short while I did see a little Sunshine over Leith.

Glad you managed to have a nice day and just sorry the weather was so poor for you today.

Enjoy the rest of the cruise, it sounds wonderful.

Where did you go shopping?

Its been a funny old day weather wise today. Rained till around 10:00, we decided to have a drive to J32 and get a coffee and cake. Once on the motorway it bucketed it down till we got to the car park then the sun came out and it was lovely. We had a forecast of storms with thunder, lightning and hail in the afternoon, we ended up sitting in the garden reading in hot sun.

Mrs YP has finished the packing, so will hopefully get a couple of hours sleep before our 02:30 pickup tomorrow.

Where did you go shopping?

Somewhere called Leith Walk, quite a few shops there and then a fabulous little shop in South Queensferry called Harbour Lane.  I bought some lovely woollen items and also some hand painted coasters for my collection.

The taxi guy was great and I hired him for 3 hours.

I also visited the RNLI shop.in South Queensferry as I'm very big on support them so bought everyone a hand painted mug with the bridges on.

Really looking forward to coming back in Juky with the other half.

Have a lovely cruise - I’m envious!   I flew back from sunny Palma today to rainy Glasgow.  💦. Weather here not looking to change much either.   Still, I should be grateful I can get away to escape it sometimes 😀

Where is everyone this morning? We are now at the airport after a quick check-in and security check. We weren't sure what to expect with it being a bank holiday. Costa for breakfast and now sat waiting for the gate to open.

Ooh on my phone I can see Phil’s photo had disappeared but I couldn’t see it was his first post! How strange!

John is working today, I have our grandson for a couple of hours this morning so that will be lovely. Then once John gets home it’s off to the hospital…

Morning all,

My first though when I saw Phil's post was he's deleted his avatar, didn't notice it was a first post!

Hope you have a good holiday.

Bright and sunny although windy, but heavy rain is forecast for later. Typical, as we had arranged to have a family get together and BBQ. Looks like we will be using the oven instead.

Enjoy the Bank Holiday everyone.

To all my other dear friends on CCF - just to let you know I'm taking a break. I'll be back soon and in the meanwhile wish you you all well - good health and happiness and excellent cruising.

Congrats on the win yesterday @Splice the mainbrace

Tactically outplayed us, executed the best chance and thoroughly deserved the win.

Best of luck next season.

Damian

Thanks. I wasn’t expecting us to win, after beating Leeds twice already this season I felt that in the more important 3rd match you would win. My son was there and it will be a day that he will never forget. I just hope that we don’t do a Sheffield United type performance next season in the Prem though, it has been nice winning more than losing in the championship this season.

Morning all.   I seem to remember one of you lovely people had a break recently in Puerto Soller in Majorca.  My daughter and I visited there last week and were very impressed. We thought it might be an idea for our get together next year.  Does whoever stayed there have any tips on central accommodation - hotel or self catering?

I guess Phil just wanted to change his avatar?  The previous one was not a very flattering likeness, was it?  Hope he can find something more appropriate, and get his posts back too.  Maybe one a little bit like George Clooney?

Hey guys, whisper it very, very softly but the sun has come out, it's 22 degrees and I'm doing my CC catch up on the pool deck with my first cocktail of the day listening to jazz saxophone music.

Hope everyone poorly is feeling better today and rain or nay enjoy the bank holiday.

The day has brightened up this afternoon, I have been out and tried to get the honeysuckle under control by winding the tendrils to the trellis, they were going wild wrapping themselves around one of the trees.  I love  honeysuckle but it always seems to want to strangle everything else.

We are back in Brithdir North Wales for a few days.

Teddy had a paddle in the Afon Mawddach near the Llanlltyd Bridge at Cymer Abbey.

From there we went to the beach at Fairbourne.

Finally we had lunch at the George III pub beside the Penmaenpool toll bridge over the Mawddach estuary.
