Should I call in to upgrade?

We are booked on Oasis of the seas June 7 sailing.    We have inside cabin but prices for the balcony has dropped below what we paid for the inside cabin? 

 

What are the chances that this cruise will happen as planned?  Should I invest few hours on the phone to upgrade?

I don't understand why you would NOT do this. It would be a little time spent on the phone for what is, in my opinion, a huge upgrade.

It's been my understand that after final payment you can upgrade if the price is greater and you just pay the difference.  Maybe if you picked a higher category balcony?  I would contact your TA, or if you didn't book with one, contact Royal.  🍷

You can also upgrade if the higher category is the same or lower price, which what the OP is experiencing.

I called in to upgrade from GS cabin to OS cabin when pricing went down below what I paid for the GS, 3 days before final payment on Grandeur June 11th.  AND was told I will get a 283.00 refund.  The trick is...I am assuming that cruise will be canceled.  So much for that brief excitement.  😞

Definitely.  The amount of FCC/refund if cancelled is the same either way.  If the ship sails, you got a nice upgrade for free.
