Are others getting emails about changes, lift and switch etc?

Recommended Posts

Maybe I'm not on rcl email list, but I found out about extension of CWC and lift and switch in a Galveston group and came here and saw it also posted.

If others getting emails then I just need to find out how to sign up but seems like rcl should be notifying everyone of changes. I shouldn't have to keep up with groups to find stuff out. Or to read now only one fcc per booking, though before sometimes 2 allowed, or cant apply fcc to deposit any more and so on.

Seems like at least extending cruise with confidence they would send out to all current pax. Maybe they did and because I used a ta I dont get notifications? I dont like to have to depend on message boards to get rcl news. What do I need to do to get in the rcl news loop?

I believe that so far the information has only gone out to travel agents.  They are disseminating it on message boards like this one.

I think it took a few days to a week for me to get my personal e mails the last time they announced changes.

If I find a goat here in dallas I'll try if it gets rcl to email me news. Now to find a goat.

I once got someone in the casino royale group to get my email preferences fixed, but not much coming thru now.

No emails. I did a lift and switch yesterday morning after reading about it here for NRD that only other option was FCC. I was able to inform my brother his family HAL Italy cruise this summer had been cancelled and he could now get a refund - he had paid in full early when he booked last year.. his first cruise. He's through a TA and hadn't heard... news only out an hour. He said 'how did you know?' told him I keep an eye on the cruise boards and somebody had posted it on Celebrity one. Love the boards!

Well thanks, just seems like for a company this size there should be a better way to keep up with programs and changes than to have to keep up with them on social media.

I don't even know when you started to get 2 pts for a solo cruise, I just had more pts and figured it out. Didnt know 1 for solo cabins or I would have booked my next cruises differently to max out loyalty pts for what I spent.

I just hoped there was a way to find out rcl changes without having to search and ask on social media. Rcl seems particularly poor at communication.

It's also a huge disappointment to spend a month waiting for a great price on liberty only to have it cancelled and the only thing i get out of it is a lower fcc, no benefit and now when it's too late they come along with lift and move, which I'd sure have liked on my liberty cruise instead of laying extra for a more expensive cruise in a smaller solo cabin.

I'm just getting to feel like I'm getting the short end of the stick on policies I thought would be nice to get ahead of instead of behind them where each change costs me more money. I was going to stay with rcl but kinda mad I lost my great liberty rate and got nothing good from it except a more expensive solo cabin with fewer loyalty pts than i would have gotten.

Got mad and cancelled 2nd fcc and booked carnival, at least I know what the rules are. And got $800 to spend onboard.

Just seems like all that watching for a great rate .... and now they come up with lift and move. Some get the wheat and some get the chaff on rcl. I'm winding up on the wrong end of stuff. Hoped to get rcl emails of changes I dont seem to be getting. I just hoped there was a way to find out rcl changes other than social media. Thanks.. ... so much for my great liberty cruise price. Feel skewered again. Gone

Nothing I can lift and switch. I moved my great priced liberty to a more expensive 9 day. There are no more 9 days out of Galveston. I sure wish I'd done nothing and could lift and switch my original liberty price. Was told att it wasnt a option.

And booked 2 more solo cabins for next year before I found out they get 1 loyalty pt, not 2 like other cruises. Never had a cruise with solo cabins out of Galveston to know that rule. Just seems like I learn every rule the hard way. It's a 5/4 I guess I could lift and switch to 2022 but now I'd rather it be a regular 7 day with 14 loyalty pts like I originally booked. I've made a mish mash of rebooking at higher prices with fewer loyalty pts. Cant ask what I dont know to ask and ta never thought to tell me.

It would just help to know booking rules. And I'm kinda sad I lost my great liberty price and rebooked at much higher cost ... and now they come out with lift and switch. Hard not to feel dissapointed in this whole rebooking mess. I like to understand the rules and here it's like quicksand to me.

Time again for a break from rcl. All that researching for good prices, good cabins and now all the prices cost me more for less I've switched to.

Biker has a pt, wait, go sit on my hands and wait for a last minute which is my usual way and how I got good prices on the ones I lost. These are terrible deals to me. Should have just sat on my hands as biker keeps advising people. Biker is right on!!

No emails sent to me yet. I'm in the UK. I think we are always a few days ahead on CC of any changes anyway and emails will add a few days into that.

I'm not being drawn into this Lift and Shift.  I know prices will be different next year but we don't know how much by. They could be higher or lower - we just don't know. But I do know how much I have paid every year for my balcony 14 days summer Med from the UK for the past 5 years and how low they go and they are no way near a level I would be happy to pay. I will book when the price is right for me.  I think I'm going to wait and see. Even if it means loosing my deposit.

I didn’t see a post from @Biker19 here??

He keeps telling folks not to fall for higher prices for less cruise ... I fell and regretting not taking his advice sooner, but not booking anything else rcl any time soon. Feeling ripped off now that I see lift and move too late to help me.

Biker gives great advice.

I did get one from rcl  just now but as usual kinda nothing, about virtual happy hour. I never get ones with rule changes for fcc, or useful info. I must be on their mailing list I just never get changes and stuff I need to know to book smarter.
