Is everyone else only getting emails from Carnival?

Recommended Posts

Hi folks,

Since we made our Princess cruise credit request for my April 2020 cruise back in March, all the emails I get from Carnival now, are Carnival emails, I've not gotten any emails from Princess. Is that occurring for everyone?  I've never cruised on Carnival itself, only Princess.

Thanks

Are they coming from Carnival Corporation or from Carnival Cruise Lines. Carnival Corporation sounds like the refund processes have been consolidated to use common corporation funding and to have a single labor force for all their holdings.

My wife continues to get several e-mails a week from Celebrity.  I get 2-3 per week from Carnival even though we haven't cruised with them in 20 years.  Don't get anything from Princess other than a cancellation notice last night on my Enchanted cruise in September.

I do not get any email from Carnival, I have never cruised on Carnival cruise lines and I am not on their mailing list.  I do receive email from Princess since I cruise on Princess and I am on their mailing list.  The email I do receive these days is promotional junk email and as someone above mentioned I received cancellation notification for September TA, but no email regarding the money and credit I am owed.  I boarded January 20th and my cruise was abruptly halted.

None from Carnival.  Just Princess emails telling me how things are going and oh, we cancelled your Oct cruise.  That's all for now.  Have a great day.

It is extremely unlikely that they have consolidated refund operations to their parent company.  Then again, the unprecedented incompetence and inefficiency as well as deliberated delays perhaps lends some credence to that notion, if for no other reason than that Carnival wanted to make a total circus out of this process and go out of their way to make things inefficient as possible.

Very doubtful the corporation is deliberately trying to provide inefficient service to their customers. It is possible that without any income, massive debt, plus customer refunds that the corporation is working with a reduced staff and limited funds to make it through this most difficult time. While we don't actually know if consolidation of funding and staffing has actually happened, it does sound like a prudent business move to try and stay afloat until business returns, probably not in a big way until 2022, so their customers can again enjoy a cruise vacation.

Sorry to bump a couple of week old thread, but I did call Princess today.  They told me they have not sent out any marketing/promotion emails since January, which doesn't seem right to me, but that is what they told me.  I still have gotten 0 emails from Princess since we opted for FCC's for our cancelled cruise in April, but I do get emails from CCL almost daily, and have never cruised on Carnival.

It seems to be a semi-widespread issue; without checking exact numbers, my sister has gotten upwards of 10 non-specific emails from Princess since this whole thing started. I've gotten 2. A few people in these forums have also said they didn't get a bunch of generic emails that other people reported getting, and I can personally attest to missing emails from the casino department that a host I contacted confirmed that they sent out (including a few personally targeted ones).

I've received at least 7 emails from Princess since 1 May.

Outside of a pile of targeted emails (2 'Option 2' receipts, 1 notice-of-cancellation, 1 back-and-forth email thread to one of the casino hosts) or ones fowarded to me from family (2 Mother's Day ads from Princess), I've received zero emails that respond to the keywords of 'Carnival' or 'Princess' that are from CCL since May 1, 2020.

One of my friends I checked in with reports the same.

About a month ago, I received an email from Princess saying if I wanted to continue receiving their emails with the same frequency, to click the button.  Otherwise, they would limit the emails to about once a month.  I clicked and get about 4 or 5 a week.

Did you see my message I posted a couple weeks ago (quoted here)?  About the email that asked us if we wanted to continue receiving emails?  I clicked yes.

I just checked everything with 'princess' in the from field (excluding anything voyage-specific) since February and didn't see anything regarding that... missing emails have been a consistent issue for me though, dating back to at least Summer 2019 where I had trouble booking a particularly high value offer that could "only" be booked via email.

(Edit: And I wasn't the only person who had problems communicating via email on that offer; there's a fairly limited pool of people who get comps of that tier and we all tend to grouse together.)

I went back and looked and do not have any emails from Princess since the time this pandemic started, and I used to get at least one a week, but I will say this, I'm elite with Princess, and I know people who are elite are supposed to get an early preview email about new deals, and I have never gotten those either.

I was wondering why I am getting less from Princess now. None with offers for cruises. Basically let s keep in touch.
whereas. Carnival and Celebrity are sending me offers daily for summer , fall cruises. Not going.

None from Carnival but have been getting one or more e-mails from Princess almost weekly.

That's funny ... I've rarely been getting any emails from Princess but a lot of emails each day from Celebrity, Carnival and Royal Caribbean and an occasional email from Holland America and NCL.  We've sailed on all these lines in the past but have the majority of our sailings with Princess and had 6 bookings with them with 3 that were canceled ... and now, crickets!  Interesting ... would have not thought about it if the OP hadn't brought it up.

So for the people who haven't been getting messages from Princess... any of you get the "we're working on it, please be patient" email? Mine just showed up like an hour ago. (Subject: "NAME, an update on your refund")

(First generic email responding to from:princess since March 29, 2020.)
