Carnival cancelled until Sept 30, 2020

Recommended Posts

Just got the same email for my September 7th sailing on the Paradise. Still trying to figure out what we’re going to do. Got an amazing casino rate and highly doubt I’ll find another one for $250 all in.

I am sure this has been asked before but I am too lazy to search for the answer. I booked a Casino offer with my daughter (16) for 8/1 on the sensation which was just canceled. If I take the FCC do I have to cruise with her or can it be used with someone else or solo?.....

How much will I get back if I select an FCC? I paid $249 for a 5 day on the Paradise. Casino rate was $25pp and taxes came out to $199. Based on what I circled, would I only get an FCC for $50 and get the $199 refunded back to my credit card? Adjustments.JPG

I know. I booked the same cruise and got over half it back from my original booking.  Looking at the same cruise next year it will cost more no matter when I sail so I am debating on just taking the refund and waiting for another casino offer.

The FCC is the base cabin rate, not including any taxes, port fees etc because those get refunded. You will get a $25pp FCC and the $199 in taxes will be refunded.

I was hoping for a bit more information today but not surprised. I’m booked on the Fantasy 10/31 and wondering if that is a ship they are planning to dispose of within the next 90 days. Also, I wonder if when they do start sailing again if it will be only be the 8 ships that were previously mentioned. I know they are doing their best and wanting to get back to sailing ASAP but it is still frustrating for those of us with cruises booked. I’m honestly wishing they’d go ahead and cancel mine or tell us we can cancel ourselves and just put our deposit towards a future booking. My final payment isn’t due until 8/2, hopefully we’ll know more by then.

Still no word or announcement on Radiance or Mardi Gras though. Patiently waiting to hear whether I will be on the Mardi Gras in January. Not looking promising.😢

In John Heald's video on the announcement, he mentioned that he didn't have anything new on either ship and promised to let us know when he hears something.

How does it work if I already had obc from the last time I got cancelled and booked a later one.  Do they add it to what you already had?  I had $800 obc on the one they just cancelled.  Does that mean the next will be $1400 obc?

The cruise lines are basically captives of the whim and indifference of the inept CDC. Until some guidelines are published, the cruise lines can't do anything.....

Not a very good sign when your brand ambassador doesn’t know what is going on with their own ships.

Wish the CDC would get off their collective rears and get some safety and health standards published so the cruise lines would have something to work towards...

Seems like a good suggestion!
