First Free Cruise Offer

Recommended Posts

I got my first free cruise offer today from the Players Club. It’s for a free ocean view cabin, $100 in free casino play and free drinks while playing. The list of available cruises are for the Caribbean and for Mexico.  Cruise must be booked no later than the end of July.  All available cruise dates listed were between 12/20/20 and 04/10/21.

I got the same promotion as well but I’m very leery about booking as it requires full payment upfront. Given the current situation should HAL Cancel will be months before you see a refund also what if Carnival Corp. goes bankrupt?

Also keep in mind it’s a “free” room but not upfront. you will be required to pay $200 per person ($400 total) plus taxes and fees upfront . The $400 will then be given back  to you In form of $400 OBC.

I got the offer too by email - free ocean view room, $250 casino play and free drinks while gambling.  Would love to book but with our border not even open, it’s just too early.  Hopefully there will be more of these offers to come.

Not a problem for me at this time.  I am aware of the $400, but all the sailings offered are too close to a mid-January, 2021,  cruise of 35 days which we booked over a year ago.  So I realistically could not take advantage of this offer, even under normal circumstances. I was just really excited to actually get my first offer!

I got this offer for free inside cabin a month or so ago and booked it and now it’s for ocean view.  Would  any of you be willing to send me your offer for the OV free cabin so that I can present it to my agent to see if I can change my reservation.

Any help appreciated

My 90 year old mother got this offer yesterday also.  Unfortunately she is no longer cruising or traveling due to her age, at least that is what she says.  She has gotten similar offers for the Players Club in the past but this one looks like it has more perks.

Thanks, I know but if I can get a copy of the offer and can call my agent at Holland and see if we can transfer the offer to my mariners #. It’s always worth the try.  And only asking for an upgrade and already booked casino offer.

What line would you be cruising?

The sailings are different from previous offers.

Does anyone know if the deposit for this casino promo is refundable?

It doesn't mention it in the email and I tried contacting my vacation consultant but no answer.

I was told that the entire fare had to be paid upfront and that no refunds, so we purchased the cruise insurance (we upgraded to a a Neptune, thus the charge).

I thought the same thing but I did a mock booking and its asking me for deposit upfront and final payment due in October which is nice because It will buy us time.

However I don't want to lock in the reservation with the deposit and then not be refundable.

We reserved a Neptune on this deal & paid a deposit with a FCD.  Final is due 60 days prior.

For the first time, we both received this free cruise offer - we don't gamble, so it's straight from HAL.   The cruises are all either Caribbean or Mexican, and only go through April of next year.  There is an up front payment of C$260 each, with OBC of US$200 each when we board.

Think we'll have a vaccine by April of next year?  Or, if we take the cancel-for-any-reason insurance will that cover us if we don't sail because of no vaccine?
