It's a small venue as Caribill described above. It's located between the atrium on the Promenade Deck and the back of the ship. If you're walking from the theater to the Vista Lounge, there's a bottleneck to get through if a lot of people are waiting to get in or if a lot of people are leaving. They use it for the game shows, trivia, presentations, etc.

Thank you, we have never been aware or interested in such things. Not demeaning them, just no interest.

Ir replaced the larger Explorers Lounge that was on the Grand Class ships.  It holds the same number of people as Explorers did, but in a significantly smaller space.

It was named Princess Live! because a number of the events in there (game shows, interviews, etc.) are recorded and can be placed back on demand on the cabin TVs.

I have a Regal Princess ??, wondering when the changes will show up on the website?  I can look at the Grand listings and see what the ship is doing Summer into Fall, but last cruise listed is Oct. 11 night Canary Island.  I wonder if the Regal will do a TA after that cruise?

Jusr found my mid ship suite on deck 14. The deck plan shows in and out cut outside for the balconies.  Any info on which is best?.

Also any info about the ship good or bad would be helpful. Switching from the Grand is a bit confusing

Are you supposed to have a suite or mini-suite?  Mid ship on Regal has mini suites and balcony staterooms.

Regal is very pretty, also very large.  The buffet is awesome---great array of food.  However, will that (buffet) change now with the virus?     One thing we very much dislike about this class of ship is the overall small balconies.   Generally speaking, the size is atrocious!  We do a lot of research prior to going on this class of ships to make sure we get a decent size balcony.  Just because you have a mini suite or suite doesn't guarantee a large balcony, btw.   If you have a mini suite mid ship, definitely go for an angled one as it will give you more room.

As a previous member noted, the library is sadly lacking in variety.  We found the Sky Princess was worse in that it didn't seem to have a library.

Thanks for the info. All of you seem to be very experienced in Regal Princess.

Kindly tell me

1. How are the obstructed view balconies right in front (facing forward) on the higher decks?

2. How many days prior to sailing is the final payment date?

3. What are the chances of a last minute price drop on Regal after this final payment date?

Especially for later this year?

@Triptkr. I said suite because I meant "suite" not mini suite or balcony.

There are no full suites cn Regal that are truly mid ship. There are only some on deck 14 that are sort of mid aft.

Not happy about the switch but who  knows if well actually be allowed into the ports at all

We'll  wait and see

1.   Those are great!  We've been on those in a balcony stateroom.  Huge balconies.  Just a personal note is that we would book these staterooms for warmer  cruises as when the ship is in motion there is wind and we prefer warm(er) wind over a cold wind.   I will try to find a picture of those balconies.

2.   70-90 days.   I know that's not very helpful.  I'm sure someone else on here knows the exact number.

3.   Depends.  Nice thing about Princess...even after final payment you can get the lower fare that's advertised.   Obviously, it has to fit your parameters i.e. if the new promotion is for new bookings only then you can't get the lower fare advertised.  I constantly keep an eye on the price, if it drops...Princess gets a phone call from me.  :)     Also on a personal note: I highly doubt there will be any cruises this year that depart out of the US or that any US passengers will be allowed on.  Just my measly two cents.   Hope I'm wrong.

Gotcha.  Do you mind sharing which suite (location) you had on the Grand?   I'm curious because location is a serious matter on a cruise ship!  If you picked a prime location on Grand and they are giving you mid aft on the Regal...that'd make me a wee bit cranky.

thanks I just Googled and found out the final payment date is reduced to 60 days prior to sailing for Princess Cruises till 30th April 2021.

I am looking/hoping for a price drop after the final payment date which may be valid only for a new booking.

There are plenty of unsold cabins as of now and every week when I check, not a single cabin has been booked in the category I am checking.

Hence, I won't make a booking right now

I am not sailing anywhere near USA

Triptkr. The Grand had mid ship full suites. Regal doesn't  have any of those so cannot get that location if we want the full suite with its perks. Agree that location is important but for us having the full suite is also important. If the Regal only had aft or forward suites we would probably cancel the cruise. We were ok with the sort of mid aft suite we had on the Coral through the Panama Canal sooo will be ok with that location on the Regal even though it is not our favorite spot

We had one two years ago (OMG it's been two years since we took a cruise, not for lack of trying LOL) and had one of the extended mid-ship balconies and loved it.  The Royal class standard balconies seem a little tight so these are a treat, plus you are covered from the elements and few people ever looked down from the sea walk.  Really like the Regal, great space, good layout, my second fav next to the original Grand Class series.

I can. The lack of a Promenade Deck that you can walk around the ship. It's especially noticeable when trying to get past Princess Live if people are waiting to get in. Princess Live is another disaster of an area--very uncomfortable for most events that are held there, although I did appreciate the ability to watch the game shows later on TV.

I was on the Royal in February, which I believe is the same layout as the Royal, and I also disliked the spiral staircase from the casino up to the promenade deck which the tobacco odors to waft up to another deck.
