Redrobo Posted March 9, 2021 #5 Share Posted March 9, 2021 We are on a Celebrity Cruise in April 2022 , sailing from Southampton, Doing Spain Portugal and France. Final Port is Le Havre, staying late(22.00) to allow excursions to Paris or Normandy Beaches.

gmerick Posted March 9, 2021 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2021 Don't search for Le Havre, look for Paris.
grapau27 Posted March 9, 2021 #8 Share Posted March 9, 2021 Le Havre port is disappointing and people do refer to Le Havre for Paris. Bear in mind this if you plan to visit Paris.
Rare livingonthebeach Posted March 9, 2021 #9 Share Posted March 9, 2021 Not much to do in Le Havre. Honfleur and Rouen are nearby towns that are much more interesting if one doesn’t want to go all the way to Paris.

Livorno is the best for Florence and Pisa. La Spezia is used too but is a long way.

We we're there once when there was a traffic problem and people who ventured into Florence by car said it took 2.5 hours each way.

We rented a car and did the Normandy beaches (to Pointe du Hoc) and the American Cemetery during our stop on our Celebrity transatlantic in Nov/Dec. 2012. A very moving (emotional) excursion.
