Did Cruise Care Change?

I was perusing my upcoming cruises in 2022 and clicked on the Cruise Care Trip Insurance link.  Did its coverage change?  It seems to be more in keeping with the TravelGuard insurance I get through Costco.  I'm not an insurance agent, nor do I have any special knowledge of trip insurance, if anyone out there has more information please chime in.  Thanks.

I would not book cruise insurance through the cruise lines.  You would be out of luck if the company files bankruptcy.  You can probably get more coverage for less going through an insurance company on your own.

For my previous cruises, I have  normally have purchased and been very happy with the value of my cruise insurance through third parties.  However, the 90% FCC for Cancel for any reason is sure appealing.  When I add CFAR to my other vendors, the price is very high. Other than CFAR is a personal priority for me,  what am I missing?

Thanks!

The other policies pay in cash and may have better benefits in other areas such as medical and medical evacuation.

I'm not sure Cruise Care has a pre-existing condition waiver at least in my state.  I've seen reference to it but have never found it included in the policy available to me.  Something to check if important to you.

As Mr Pee said the CFAR is in the form of a FCC with conditions, not a cash settlement.

Actually, that is not a concern. The policy is merely branded to sell through the cruise line. It is underwritten by an insurance company, such as Nationwide, that will not be affected if the cruise line files for bankruptcy.

That is not to say there aren’t other problems like low coverage limits, but there are also good points such as cost, especially for older passengers.
