Medallion App Updated and Working Now

Yes, I do believe that Covid-19 protocols have affected this.  Whether Princess was looking for a new way to provide suggested check-in times rather than arbitrary by decks, then this could be it as well.  Without more info, who knows?

I have had an email back from the MC App development team.  The email came back from AskOceanMedallion, but a cryptic address @carnival.com. 

 

If the person was sincere, they mentioned more than once how much they appreciated my detailed "in depth" analysis and "robust" feedback.

 

My feedback has been passed to the development team and I am to hear back after they "take a closer look at what's happening".

 

There was nothing at all in specifics, such as acknowledging any of the bugs I mentioned, nothing confirming nor hinting at data conversion, nothing about partial table inventory for DMW choices. 

 

I will just have to wait.

 

I replied briefly thanking them for getting back to me.  I mentioned I have had a couple of other thoughts since my email if I ever talk to someone live.  I then mentioned how much we have enjoyed the Princess cruise experience over the years and am very disappointed in this situation and feel bad as a customer and a shareholder that Princess is suffering this reputation hit as the MC concept has such promise, but is sadly falling well short of the mark and hope they get it fixed soon.

 

ETA - IDK whether this is a coincidence or not, but my email reply came not long after posting a negative review of the app in the Play Store, where I got the standard response to reach out via email and reference the online item.  Maybe I should post on Facebook as well.  Perhaps the squeaky wheels are getting attention.  I do not want to throw them off dealing with the near-term voyage issues, but I think pretty much all issues are common and if fix for one can fix for all.

The "cryptic address" is probably a support ticket number. Their system when it receives an email to askoceanmedallion@carnival.com probably creates a support ticket and then the reply comes with an address that identifies the ticket so any reply you then send goes to the existing ticket.

Princess Cruises Unveils New On-Demand Feature that Lets Guests Call a Crew Member to Their Location for Assistance on MedallionClass® Vacations. CrewCall™ Gives Guests Instant Access to Personal Service While CrewCall Chat Lets Guests Text Specific Questions and Requests to Crew. 
 

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (June 10, 2021) -- Princess is introducing a new on-demand service that allows guests to call a crew member to their exact location to make an in-person request for assistance.

CrewCall™ service on demand is available on stateroom TVs as well as the MedallionClass® app and leverages the innovative OceanMedallion wearable to guide a crew member to a guest’s exact location to be of service to the guest.

The new capability is yet another example of how Princess is leveraging MedallionClass technology to increase high-touch and personalized service versus replacing it.

Sorry, I meant I put it in the old app called Ocean Ready.  I don't see anywhere in the Medallion Class app under Ocean Ready to even do it.  Does anyone see it in Medallion?

If you still have the separate old Ocean Ready app, you should delete that as that might ??? interfere with the new Ocean Medallion app. The Ocean Medallion app has a SECTION called Ocean Ready. If you click on Travel Checklist, then Personal Information & Documents, Then Travel Documents, that is where you enter the passport....or you might have to delete the old one if it is not current and it is there?

Others can get the app to recognize a cruiser at this step but I'm "0 persons"

Thank you I found it. I have only singled in with booking number so far. Do I need a separate login for Medallion or will regular Princess work. It seems people have had trouble with this.

Thats putting it mildly and quite diplomatic.  You will eventually need to sign into the MedallionClass app. I've decided to not sweat it until within 30 days (oh snap that's next month 😅🤣😂)

Maybe I misunderstood. I use the same log in for both the app & Princess mobile site. Was that the question or was it whether or not you needed to complete check-in on MC? (If latter, yes check-in is now on a poorly designed app)

When I click on Personal Information all that comes up ar Security Photo, Profile Photo and PIN code

Has ANYONE been able to select an Arrival time yet?  I see lots of issues but not sure it is even possible yet.  We're scheduled for Nov 3 sailing...so assumed (?) they just hadn't opened it up yet.

What??? We sail two months before you and can't pick an arrival time!! Do please answer Ombud and let us know if you used an iPhone or Android.

You’re the first person I’ve read about who has been able to accomplish that task…we sail from LA on 10/23 but nothing is available yet on our Apple devices.

After trying (& failing) to get seats, I'm discovering that the website, mobile, MedallionClass droid app, and iPhone app can all do different things (ie: seat selections only on computer). Now I wouldn't have suspected this bc I've NEVER run into it before (yes other firms sites look different but I can accomplish the same tasks). Thats why I'm interested in which version people are using if they're able to get an arrival time

I am guessing you have the old version of the app prior to all the enhancements made. Are you able to update it to the current version? We can confirm that if you post what version you have. I am not sure how to do that if you are iPhone, but if you are Android, you go to Settings /Apps / Medallion Class...click on it and scroll to the bottom and you will see a Version number. What is that number?

No I deleted the old app and brought in the new one - it also will not allow me to save a security question.  I am on iphone 7

So my cancelled cruise is gone from the MC app and my 10/24/21 cruise is showing.

 

And now I have a new problem. In order to apply a casino promotion I received, they needed to cancel the original booking and create a new one. But, the MC app appears to still be pointing at the old booking and won't show me the new one (it's real hard to tell since the MC app only shows you ship, date, and cabin without reservation number and the new booking is same ship, date, and cabin).
