I believe Viking have a 48hr cancellation policy for excursions.

Pre-cruise, you can cancel in MVJ and receive a full refund up to 7-days before the cruise. At 7-days pre-cruise MVJ is locked, while the information is sent to the ship.

Once onboard, any shore-ex booked within the first 2-days are non-refundable, but others mostly have a 2-day cancellation period. However, we have experienced different terms on some tours, so best to check.

Thanks to everyone about canceling a previous purchased excursion....trying to decide if we can walk the Dubrovnik wall in this heat......maybe now though we could just leave the tour and go back to the cruise ship.

Your Cruise Companions are back with a round up of their Viking Venus cruise from Malta to 5 ports in Croatia. We have successfully returned home after 15 days on the road during the pandemic. Overall we were able to navigate through the many bureaucracies and requirement to travel on this cruise. This video explains it all:

When I originally booked it, the Highlights tour was listed as 3 1/2 hours. I had 2 hours to eat lunch, and then the walking tour at 3pm. They changed the Highlights tour to 5 1/2 hours, making it impossible to now do the walking tour. I guess I’ll just talk to guest services when I’m on the ship, and see what they can do.

This is NOT a tender port - Kotor is beautiful and the sail in is well worth viewing,  Kotor tours leave from the dock and walk into the city which is only a couple of blocks from the port.  This is the closest city on this itinerary.  Gozo is the only tendering port, based on info from our just completed cruise on the Venus.

For those sailing on the Viking Venus from Valletta on 3rd August 2021, I'm advised that the total passenger account will be approximately 200 people. Your private luxury yacht awaits. 🥳🎉👍

You have been fantastic.   Thanks for everything!

If you can do the walk on your own and can get started early, I wouldn't be too worried about the heat. DW isn't overly mobile and she completed the entire wall.

Should the heat start to bother you, there are a few spots where you can get off and return to the old city level, returning to Pile Gate and a bus back to the ship.

The views are definitely worth the effort.

Are you staying on the Viking Sea for the Malta & Greek Isles cruise that begins on July 31st? I recall you also saying there will be roughly 430 guests on board the next cruise… is this the one you are referring to?

Yes, that's the one, looks like the guest numbers will be around 400 according to recent crew comments, but I have heard figures from 350 to 450 being mentioned by various members of crew, be nice to have few more cruisers on board😎

Yes, we had planned a week post cruise in Malta to cover the old amber regulations for quarantine, when things changed, and since we were enjoying our Viking Sea experience so much we decided to cancel our hotel, rearrange the flights and stay on board for the next one 😎

I might try that too.... my wife has to be back at work, but I don't! haha

FirstTimeFreddy, thanks for posting the pdf's. Just as a thought (and a good keepsake for you), Guest services may be able to email you the "original" which would be easier to read and less hassle for you posting on here if you were going to do some more. (They may not of course - but I was able to obtain from Silversea back issues I'd lost while I was still on board. ).... No worries if you weren't intending to post some more - I know its a cheeky ask while you are on holiday!

That’s awesome! Good for you guys! I’ll be boarding the Viking Sea Saturday evening! Have you heard anything about the excursions in Greece? Any idea if they are going to allow us to shop and wander around on our own like they are now allowing in Croatia?

@mediavise, you may have not heard that Croatia has opened up and Viking is letting passengers wander ashore.

Tom

Yes, I've read that here, but we can only report on our experiences.  Your mileage may vary.

Excellent information and very well presented!  Thank you.  May I add that for us and our traveling companions Viking's decision to eliminate casinos, kids, the endless promotional announcements, intrusive photographers, and hawking art among the other benefits they include in their price make them worth the premium price. I guess you were in a wrinkle, as I understand it, we cannot stay additional days in Malta at this time but must remain in the Viking bubble.

The agreement seems only to be with the Croatian authorities, but things are constantly under review and may change?

We’re going earlier than our Sept. 12 cruise but have made our own air arrangements. Perhaps you are limited because you have Viking Air?

We’re staying after for two days (October 2 sailing) at the same hotel Viking was offering for the post extension. (For a lot less money - shhh.) We booked our own flights, too.

Would you be able to post a photo of the officers on the Sea?  I'm wondering who's onboard.
