I didn't mean to book another cruise last night...

I had no plans to give Carnival any more money until cruises had at least started again.  I was content (mostly) to wait until Feb 2022 for our family cruise, but then I got a Cheers to You email.  Soooo my husband and I will hopefully get our long-awaited grown ups only cruise in November because the RU2 deal was too good to pass up.

Our passports expired in February this year so we were going to get a little closer to the Feb 2022 cruise before mailing in the renewals.  But then we (I) decided to be impulsive so we are mailing them off this week.  Our kids' have to be renewed in person due to age so we started making plans to do that since we were already on the website and HOLEY COW, y'all!  Because there are now so few acceptance locations and so many pandemic restrictions, our first available appointment for them isn't until August.

Moral of the story, if you need a passport (book or card, it doesn't matter), DO IT NOW.

YES!  I sent mine off in April & finally got confirmation it is being processed and the check cashed last week.  My son's has to be done in person.  I had been checking for open appointments since Feb or Mar.  Finally was able to schedule in early May for one in 2 days.  I knew his was expiring this year.  Didn't realize mine expired last year oops 🙄  But yes for sure, as soon as you know you need it start looking for an appointment or mail it for renewal....but thank you for the reminder i need to print his application 😁

I had suggested on another site that since no one is cruising right now, it's the perfect time to get a passport or renew etc.  and be prepared to go anywhere when it does resume.

Amazing how so many still say..."I don't need one."...

I give up...LOL

I didnt mean to book one for this year either and was fully prepared to wait for my two next year but i got a good rate of 719 dollars for 4 day Miracle cruise in an inside cabin on deck 9 that has drinks on us in the Casino and 500 OBC so basically a 219 dollar cruise.  Just have to hope the border opens up by November lol.

I am glad you got a great deal and my fingers are crossed for your November cruise. You have been a great resource for information on how things have transpired in Canada. Hopefully, your country will have cruise ships up there soon!

I echo the idea of starting the passport renewal process early.

Mine expires 1/25/22.

Sent everything on 4/28/21.

Check cashed and application status showed received 5/26/21.

Status shows an additional 10-12 weeks expected until renewal process is complete.

That suggests a date of around August 18.

Cutting it close for a September 19 sail date.

Carnival suggests that you not travel with a passport that is close to the expiration date:

——CRUISE TRAVEL
Carnival highly recommends all guests travel with a passport (valid for at least six months beyond completion of travel).

I could have posted the exact same post.

I've been looking at all the great casino offers where I can bascailly get a cruise for free.

But I live in Canada and can't leave the country, at least for now 😞

So I booked a 12 day European cruise in July of 2022. If things aren't back to normal by then....

I guess I've lost my $241.48

Luckily I was able to get my spouses passport book and mine renewed online. While it said 8-12 weeks we had them back in about 5 weeks.

That's awesome!!  I'm crossing my fingers that I have just a little bit of that luck.  🍀

It's all I can do to keep from booking one of the August Horizon cruises from Miami, the casino offer price is so good and the balconies are so cheap. But the middle of hurricane season and the uncertain covid protocols keep me from pulling the trigger.

Renewed mine back during the pandemic and experienced the delays. All ended up working out though as it came eventually and it’s ready for some international travel I have planned over the next few weeks.

Haven’t given into the cruise temptation yet… still have the same two cruises planned. Been on several land trips in lieu of cruising throughout the past year with a bunch to look forward to.

hahahahahahaah!!!!  (I didn't mean to book another cruise)...I hate it when that happens!! 🤣

When we plan a vacation (cruise or otherwise), we start a folder, to keep the necessary info in one place....yesterday, my husband was cleaning his desk and going through the folders, shredding papers from our 'canceled' cruises, etc....and started asking me, when did we book this?? and what about this??  We are booked on the MG for Sept....and just incase it gets canceled 😉, I booked another cruise in November (irresistible casino deal)...we booked a NCL B2B for Jan 2022 (12 days) to make up for two cruises that were canceled in 2020/2021...then I booked my 'free balcony' offer for May 2022...and then he found another folder where I booked a Bermuda cruise for Sept 2022.... 🤪

We are flying out Sunday morning for a week in Orlando....I desperately need to get out of town!!!  Planning on taking a drive to port to see the MG!!

I must be a more optimistic Canuck - can't imagine we aren't OK by July 2022. Our earliest  cruise is Dec 2021, but those Casino offers for Sept 2021 Alaska cruises are REALLY hard to pass up..... sigh....

I know how y'all feel. I've got my Liberty B2B in August and over the last 2 weeks booked NCL Escape Jan 2022, MSC Seashore June 2022 and NCL Prima  Jan 2023...Oh well, I guess I'll just suck it up and take one for the team...lol

I'm at 4 and looking at 5...I have been driving her crazy with all the cruise talk!

My PVP says she's got one guy who's booked twelve in recent weeks. She says until I reach that point she's not sick of hearing from me yet. Although between me, my mom, and my best cruising buddy, we've all been ringing her phone off the hook in a frenzy of optimism.

I didn't mean to book another cruise either, but then Princess put up the Alaska sailings for later this year. I could feel them tugging on me, pulling me in. I fought it for a while - a very little while - and booked one for August. Hoping it sails!
