Curious--how did you know which bus to take?

Where did you catch it?

What is the cost?

We found the bus where all the buses are parked, just a block or so from the straw market.  We found this information from the Nassau board.  It's the bus that goes past the fish fry places.  #202 sticks in my head.  Just ask the driver if it goes to Baha Mar.

This was a couple of years ago, so I don't recall the price, but I'm thinking about $2.

Really enjoying your live review!

When we were last on Edge, we noticed that some of the main dining rooms were noisier than others (think loud children and clanging dishes). We were told that two of them were larger than the other two.  I can't tell from the deck plans - it's either Normandie and Cosmopolitan or Tuscan and Cyprus...  Please check, or maybe you've already noticed the difference in the noise level!  Thank you!!

Anyone following along and enjoying, we are another Dink couple in our mid 30s, cruising July 17 and we'd love to meet some people. I see no roll call for our cruise.

We are going on the 17th sailing…we have a roll call going

very excited to sail!!

The person checking us in just handed it to us, so we adjusted it to be loose enough to be able take off. I saw others being put in by the staff and adjusted tightly. Call me a rebel, but a damp ribbon on my wrist all week is gross and I want to be able to not wear it.

That ID band looks terribly uncomfortable with that piece that looks like a "tail". Knowing me, I would be catching that "tail" on all sorts of things. I will not wear that to sleep in. I would probably poke my husbands or my eye out. I surely hope these ID bands can be removed when a person is in the cabin.

Whatcha reading? I always need good reads!

I’m interrupting to recommend The Sweetness of Water by young, first-time novelist Nathan Harris. It takes place in Georgia, shortly after emancipation. It was fantastic!
There were a couple of times I rolled my eyes at the excessive thesaurus use (Dude, it’s okay to use the word watch twice, you don’t have to call it a chronograph). Overall, I truly enjoyed it.
Last night, on a stargazing adventure, someone recommended Andy Weir’s new book: The Hail Mary Project? I enjoyed Artemis, and loved Tye Martian, so I’ll probably go for it.

We were sailed a few years ago when the Super Bowl(Patriots vs Rams?) was scheduled(I booked without knowing it was the Super Bowl weekend)  and I asked many times if they were going to show it prior to cruise and even asked again once onboard.  No one knew.  However, to our surprise we were told to go on the upper deck to watch it(no food -just drinks you had to get from the bar) and no good seating left.  We then went to the theatre and we were able to watch the game, have drinks served and have an extravagant barbeque served at the rear of the theatre during the game.

What a wonderful event, lots of fun and the Patriots won.

Best time.

Celebrity threw a great Super Bowl party!

We are also onboard. We  Posted in the cutbacks on the edge subject .  We have noticed no special place for the unvaxed.  Nobody checks or seems to care.  We noticed 2 people playing craps on Monday night with no bracelets and no masks.  No special areas by the pool or dining room.

Re the strange wristbands:  wouldn't it be simpler and cheaper to just put them on the unvaxed?  A lot fewer people to deal with.

The un-vaxxed would remove the bands. Wha la! "I'm vaxxed". LOL.

Thanks! Maybe we should start a “reading recommendations” thread. Wonder if they’d let us?

Wear that wristband with pride.  It will always look good

To the OP.......do the un-vaxxed have to wear masks indoors? I thought the CDC guidelines for cruise ships are if at least 95% of passengers are vaccianted then NO ONE has to mask up anywhere on the ship. Isn't Celebrity doing this? If "yes", then why the need for the ID bracelets?

..............Regarding the bracelets, today at lunch in the buffet we were sitting near a group from the kids club (two adult staffers and three kids – all under 10, which I assume since they had to hold hands when they left and I doubt you’d make a 10 year old do that). Each of those kids had the same blue bracelet as me, so my overpriced college education tells me it can’t possibly determine who’s vaxxed or not. I for one am not here to argue about who is or isn’t. I don’t have access to passenger dossiers – is that a Zenith perk? Yes, there are children on board. No I don’t know how many – I’d probably get kicked off if I started creeping around counting them. Some adults are still wearing masks, it’s a choice I leave to them to make for themselves.......................

So......did you ever find out why kids are wearing the same ID bands as vaccinated adults? Seems counter productive. Actually, why are vaccinated people wearing ID bands at all? Are there areas on the ship that only vaxxed passengers can go to? Do un-vaxxed adults have to wear masks? I thought the whole idea of 95% vaccinated passengers on a cruise would eliminate masking for everyone and eliminate the need to identify who is vaxxed and who is un-vaxxed?

This is what Celebrity sent to me for my 7/10 embarkation.  This is in addition to calling me last week inquiring about my vaccination status, and what to bring to embarkation if I want to show proof of vaccination.  So, my take away is that they're giving wrist bands to those who are vaccinated to allow them unfettered access to all ship's activities and and for no requirements for mask wearing protocols......

Guests over 16 years old (over 12 for any sailing on or after August 1st) who decline or are unable to show proof of vaccination at boarding will be treated as unvaccinated and subject to additional protocols, restrictions, and costs for COVID-19 testing.

Guests visiting the Bahamas on any sailing departing from the US, do not need to apply for the health visa.

Additional requirements for unvaccinated guests 16 +

  • You will need to arrive for embarkation with a negative PCR test taken within 3 days in advance of arrival to the terminal.
  • You will be subject to a Covid-19 test at the pier.
  • A mid cruise antigen test onboard will be required.
  • An antigen test will be required at the end of the cruise.  Please do not make early travel plans on the day of debarkation to allow time for the required testing process.
  • The per person cost for these tests is $178 and will be applied to your onboard folio.
  • Masks will be required at all times onboard except while eating or drinking.
  • Unvaccinated guests are required to book a Celebrity curated tour, and depending on local government requirements, unvaccinated guests may be further restricted from going ashore.
  • Unvaccinated guests will have designated seating areas* in all venues such as the dining rooms, casino, theatre, etc.
  • Unvaccinated guests will not have access to gym or spa*.
*Venue access is validated via Sea Pass card.

This sounds like what Royal is doing regarding protocols for un-vaxxed passengers. This is NOT what I was expecting of a 95% or greater vaxxed cruise. I guess things change rather quickly these days.

Wait a minute...You're trying to apply logic???

Sorry, but that is not logical. It has been pointed out that un-vaxxed will simply remove the ID bracelet. See how easy it is to get "vaxxed"?
