If this was the differentiation wouldn't it be more cost effective to give the wrist bands to the unvaccinated? Then they only need 5%.

Not a good idea. It doesn't take any effort at all to cut off the band and appear to be vaccinated.

Virtually NO guests wearing masks on Horizon in any situation, crowded or not. On the tenders (where we were told masks are required), it was about 60%. Nobody asks or enforces anything.

Oh......so great to know masking for the un-vaxxed is not being enforced. NOT!!!!!

Couldn't agree more.  Well said. Honestly if your are really concerned that you will contradict Covid at this point cruising or traveling at all for that matter probably isn't the best choice.

My concern is not that I will contract Covid. My concern is that if masking for the un-vaxxed is not enforced, there may be problems with other un-vaxxed contracting the virus. Ships do not need an outbreak on board so why not just enforce the protocols?

Masking was enforced on the 2 bubble tours we went on. The tour operators said they were required to notify Carnival if anyone didn't follow the protocols. The 2 tour companies just reopened after being closed for over a year so they weren't going to risk losing Carnivals business for someone that didn't comply.

Everyone was wearing masks in Miami and the unvaccinated wore them on the bubble tours.

I would bring this to the attention of an officer.  Either enforce the rules or get rid of them.  I respect rules, too many people do not.  I am tired of rules only applying to people that will follow them.

It is very annoying to have a rule that is not enforced.  That makes it only apply to people who respect and follow rules, and there appear to be far to many of "the rules do not apply to me" type people around.  Personally I would bring it to the attention of an officer.  Either enforce the rule or get rid of it.

As I stated everyone in Miami wore masks and the same on both the bubble tours. Masking was being enforced in places where they were required like the Warehouse.

Ooooo, so this is what Carnival is doing?  We will be given green wrist bands?  Is that what you are saying?  Again, hadn't seen that either.

Kind backwards with 5% being the minority.  I would think it would have been easier to have them wear wrists bands then the other 95%

Because if they were put on the unvaccinated, they could easily just remove it

I once had a college professor who said the worst two laws ever are speeding and alternate side of the street parking. He went on to say everyone breaks them with generally no consequences. And once you break a law and there are no consequences, it is much easier to break another law.

So, I agree either enforce the rules, or don't have the rules.

Carnival enforced the mask protocols on the Horizon on my July 10th sailing.

How did they know who to enforce them on? What did they have to see to know that someone was not vaccinated?

Masks were only required in certain places like the arcade and they had someone there when it was open.  They were also required on bubble tours which both Carnival and the tour operators enforced for everyone. The only other place where masks were required was the port of Miami. There was a couple who got off the ship without a mask and they were immediately stopped

My daughter wore a mask except while eating and in the pool but it should be a requirement for all unvaccinated.

Except that then the passengers who aren't vaccinated could just remove them . Lol I'm not crazy about wearing a wrist band but prefer it to not going not going. I specifically got the shot to be able to travel.

You live in FL and are worried about possibly coming into contact with an unvaccinated cruiser who has been tested for covid? Do you just not leave your house? Simply being in public is more of a risk statistically. No tests required to be out in public. Some of you are having emotional reactions and thoughts about this and whipping yourselves into a frenzy over a very small statistical possibility. If you're that scared stay home. The ship, with their protocols, is much safer than your typical outing anywhere on land.

Exactly.  Spend money for 95% of the people vs 5%.

Then those who are not vaxxed should not cruise.

Did you not read my first sentence that said, "My concern is not that I will contract Covid". I'm not afraid to be out and about in public and I do not wear a mask in public unless a business or health care facility requires it. I will say it again.......my concern is that if masking for the un-vaxxed is not enforced, there may be problems with other un-vaxxed contracting the virus.

The implication being that my cruise will be impacted. I'm aware protocols are in place for positive cases on board but that just may include that I am contact traced to a Covid positive person. Now I get to unhappily quarantine in my cabin for who know how ever long waiting for my Covid test to come back negative. THAT is my concern.

I'm not scared so no need for me to stay home. This sentiment has been conveyed many times over on these forums explaining to people that we folks who are fully vaxxed are not fearful of contracting Covid but we keep getting shot down with the same old same old, "if you are afraid then stay home". Stop with that ridiculous rhetoric. It is getting extremely old.

I agree with that. I would much prefer to see cruise ships filled with only people who are fully vaccinated until this pandemic is totally behind us.

They need to require it for the unvaccinated first and then enforce it.  At least now it's required in the Casino but it also needs to the same for the buffet if not the entire ship.

Ditto, they have done this for a few years now.  Used to have to specifically go down and ask Guest Services to do it so you could use your lanyard and then they got smart and just started doing it on all of them.

Which sucks because I never wanted a hole as I don't use a lanyard. Should just be asked at check in if you want a hole or not.
