Lunch at spa cafe was a nice alternative yesterday.

Dinner: Cyprus

Escargots

Sea bass (AMAZING)—Cyprus specialty

Ms Lockhart was terrific (Aretha tribute)

Casino was NOT!

Dan is staring at me (“let’s go!”) so off to see if we can get to Jaime’s!

You had me at Sea Bass 🙂  But I have to wait until March.  I wonder if there is a picture of this sea bass somewhere?

Great posts!

Set time dining is assigned 1 dining room.

Anytime may got to any dining room.

BUT you may order from ANY menu in any restaurant—so if u want something off the Tuscan menu but Cyprus is your restaurant, just ask.

I didn't know that.  Making mental notes.

Hi - I see that there are no steps going down into the main part of the pool. Looks like 3 ladders. Can you tell us how those work for older people or heavier people? Just cannot believe there is not a set of steps but I am told there is not.

There are 3 sets of steps into the pool plus 3 sets of steps over the large pool ledge.

I had to navigate that large step as people had pool loungers on the ledge…made it ok but realized I could EASILY have wiped out so won’t do that again!

So plenty of steps but the loungers can make getting to those tricky at times

Sad to report they will not take us to Jaime’s😢

We wandered around the port & got vanilla, omeprazol (Prilosec that I take daily & forgot🙄) &

LV knockoff bag. Lady didn’t counter my lowball counter so I know they r desperate for sales—I was expecting to pay more!

It was a HOT walk.
Pier is about .5 mi. Walk.

Between our SV cabin & the walk to & around port  we got 3 miles already in today.

Thankfully breeze came up on walk back to ship.

How many seconds in a year?

(Capt Kate’s riddle yesterday—missed the answer)

is it 24? 12?

(remember, riddle, not math)

Dan says time to go do something—I’m off!

Was this Costa maya?  Wish they had a golf cart shuttle or something like that.  The last time we were on the Edge the public rooms were freezing in the evening.  How are they now?  Thanks.

You are so awesome to reply to me. So there are steps somewhere to get in?  I cannot see it in any pictures. Sometime, could you take a pic and post?  I have had 4 surgeries on my foot after an accident  and I love the pool but am afraid of the ladder. So regular steps would be amazing!!!

Yes Costa Maya—they do have a shuttle.

I have not needed my sweater so far.

I misunderstood…ladders only into the pool; steps to go over the ledge.
Sorry to get your hopes up!

You are so kind to reply.  So so happy that there is now a shuttle for the costa maya port and that the ship is comfortable.   Honestly I was having second thoughts about our august 7th sailing.

How about the solarium pool...that could work.

I booked Edge two weeks ago when I read an earlier "onboard" review...got me so excited to return to the last ship I was on pre-pandemic.  Reading your review has taken me to a whole other level.  Keep it coming while I go to pack!!!  Not sailing for 7 more weeks, but I love the anticipation.

We were on the Edge for our last cruise. Got off on March 1, 2020. Going back on Sep 4. Wonderful ship, great MDR choices, Eden we loved.

Stay Safe happy cruising.

Good that you are reporting that you and your DH are enjoying the cruise.

If I had forgotten any important paper/document, I think my hubby would have cancelled  the cruise on the spot and we would have returned home !

You are fortunate to have an understanding and resourceful husband.

Count your blessings-I am certain  that you do!

As to the design of the furniture pieces, this was a topic of many reviews of the Edge pre-Covid. With passengers’ feedback, you would think Celebrity would have taken an opportunity during shut down to replace the chairs etc with more comfortable pieces. Of course, that would be quite an expense. Perhaps going forward, more thought will be given to comfort over design.

Please continue to enjoy your vacation and post when you are able. 😎

Wow, we were walking around the Costa Maya port and had two taxi drivers approach us, both said they’ll take us anywhere we want “if we have cash”.  We elected not to leave the port area as we don’t understand the return dynamic and didn’t want to be denied to re-board.

Interesting. At post #40 @stinkyenglishteacher posted they saw a handful of kids and some unvaccinated adults were wearing wristbands and masks.

The blue wristbands and masks. There were a few others with masks and no wristbands, and then the kiddos. Didn’t see wristbands on kids who looked too young for the vaccine.

My wife won 1000 on video poker and 300 on slots a few weeks ago😁😁. First time we left ship with more money than we came on with. A lot more.

I want to add a few things about shows:

1). embarkation day, the show was a comedian at 930pm, nothing between 9-930.  Not sure what was happening at 7pm

2)  There are some events that only show up in the daily printout which isn’t listed in the app.
3) The captains clubs senior officer and capt meet and greet didn’t appear in the app or the daily, they called and left a VM.  Spoke to several pax, many claimed to have not received the VM.  This sailings event was on day 2 at 2pm at the eden; guessing that may vary

Yes I take a pic of the daily to see everything.

I got a paper invitation about the Captains club meeting in addition to the Voicemail.
