Yep - I'm thinking that, at least the aft corners excel and presidential suite guests would not benefit much from Loft 19 (Cabanas).

Tom

You get free access to the Havana pool if you wanna take a dip in the pool.

It's probably been 15 years since I got into pool (on a ship). The first house we were in here locally, I think I got into our pool twice in 10 years. I guess I'm not your typical Floridian (more a shade seeker)!

So I am still confused. It doesn't even have a cold water pool. That infinity structure is a whirlpool spa, which means hot tub, right?

And this 5 to a cabana thing, I really am not sure if they mean you can bring 5 of your closest friends from your neighboring steerage staterooms or if they mean the up to 5 people who are in your room? That's a big difference if sharing costs.

It is an infinity pool, not a hot-tub or spa, from what I understand.

At these prices I'd have to think the up to 5 guests wouldn't have to be from the same cabin.

I've often seen posts that the Havana pool area was not overcrowded on Vista class ships so I think Loft 19 will not be at capacity. Even though there are only 12 Cabanas, there are only 32 Excel Suites. Carnival would make more money from the single day bookings and the prices are high enough to keep the Excel Suiteholders from monopolizing them. I truly believe the Loft 19 Cabanas will be fully booked on nearly all sea days. There are enough guests that will be willing to pay for this exclusive treat.

Yeah, I don't get in any pool or hot tub on a cruise ship.  Not going to happen.  lol  Adults drink all day and sit in those things -- never getting out to go to the bathroom.  Just saying!  lol    Saw one dude pick his nose and wipe it off in the water.  Nope.

Description on the website calls it an infinity whirlpool, and I have not seen a cold water whirlpool before:

Your Presidents Suite is so fabulous the casino host is worried he'll never see you.

Article I read called it a pool, multiple times.

I saw that Carlos was onboard  🙂

LOL - I often wondered, particularly on NCL (as they seem to have the most hard core players) why they didn't have tables set up in some shaded area up near the pool.

I'm glad the casino never offered to set up a table on my balcony!

NCL even has it to where you can play on your TV !!

Those that have the suites get access to Loft 19 for 7 days, under your scenario, you get access with cabanafor 1 day.

I was accounting for $2,000 for the week rental. $1,000 a week if two cabins with two people (since it accommodates up to 5) split the cost.

Well, the prices sound outrageous. But then again, I can get an interior for a week with the cabana rental and Loft19 access for $3,400 - really only $2,400 if I am splitting it between two cabins. Vs paying over $6,000 for the suite that has access to Loft19. Starts to make it sound like a better deal if that's where you want to spend most of your time on the cruise.

You said an Interior cabin with a weekly Cabana rental. You can only get a weekly rate with an Excel Suite; otherwise you book a day rate if a Cabana is available.

I wonder if they stipulate a fixed set of (5) people, or if it's a max occupancy of 5. That could make a big difference - as far as people sharing it for the week.

Tom

Yeah, KMom was asking if all 5 had to be from 1 cabin or if 2 couples in 2 cabins could book a Cabana and split the cost.

I would even go further and ask whether there's a wristband or something or can the cabana owner shift out their guests through the day? No more than 5 AT A TIME? You could switch out your friends every couple of hours. How much can a person game this system?

I'm just typing away in my mom's basement, I don't have any friends,, let alone >5. Seriously though, I'd expect some type of wristband so definitely limited to up to 5 at a time. Cabana has "dedicated attendant" so they may be able to limit switching guests during the rental. I'm sure everything will be tried, just as a weekly rental would be more likely to switch guests during the week. I can't take my DW  the same sea day my girlfriend visits.

2,000 is per day, not per week.  Eli_6 had a 3 day quote of like 6900.

6900 was what they are paying for the Excel suite cruise fare.  The cabanas are 500 per day or 2000 per week but apparently only the Excel suite guests can reserve for the whole week.

Makes sense now.  But If someone has dropped major coinage for an Excel suite with a great balcony, why would they go and drop another 2000 + gratuity for the cabana?  Loft 19 is OK, but there isn't even a pool there, it's an infinity style hot tub.  If they want an exclusive pool, they have to go to the postage stamp sized one in Havana.

That's what she was saying already (she thought it was dumb to buy the cabana when they already have the outdoor space and paid well for it) and also what I keep saying.

I wouldn't go on an awesome ship like Mardi Gras to just be in my cabin the whole time, even a cabin that great, but on the other hand, I wouldn't be bothering with lying around on any public decks, free or not, if I had that wraparound balcony.
