Mariner Penthouse C

I went to Bill's suite guru spreadsheet but couldn't find what I was looking for.  Are some of the Penthouse C on Mariner without a post?  I guess I need without a post but with a shower actually.

Any help appreciated,

Marc

Marc, 914 and 915 are our favorite Penthouse C suites on Mariner. They are quiet, shower suites without a pole. You also have more privacy on your balcony since the balcony on the Mariner suite next door is in the middle of the suite and not adjacent to your balcony.

834 is probably our least favorite Penthouse C suite. It has a pole, is across the hallway from a noisy air conditioning room, and gets some noise when the tenders are being used or when crew members are doing maintenance on the tenders.

Great info Dave, Thanks!  We have some more Mariner bookings in our future!  Possibly in Penthouse C's!

Thank you for the comments on 914 and 915.

I have a quick follow-up question.  Did you experience any noise issues from the forward stairway landing?  I see on the deck plan that the suite door is adjacent to the landing.

We’ve been in 915 a couple of times and never had any noise issues due to the proximity to the staircase. There are only a few suites forward so most people using the stairs or the elevator will walk aft. We have also been in Suite 821 on the Explorer which is in the same relative position. There were no noise issues in that suite also.

That staircase is one of the reasons that Mariner is still my favorite ship; three staircases instead of two (rear and atrium).  I always use it for quick up and down especially after shows or returning from observation lounge.

<gasp>  Not a one of these has a review in Suite Guru.   😥

We have sailed in PHC suites on the Mariner several times. Both on deck 8 and 9. Loved it. We had no problem with the pole.
We just booked a Mariner 2023 cruise in the Caribbean,  and for a small addition in money, decided to book an aft Horizon Suite. The balcony looks fabulous.
Any comments?
Sheila.

Good choice Sheila. Hopefully your Horizon Suite is on deck 8 or deck 9. We’ve sailed in 992 twice and loved it. IMO, there are a couple of very minor drawbacks. With a king bed, the bedroom area is a little tight. Also, when the suite was renovated a few years ago, the safe was not enlarged as it was in most other suite categories..

Hi Dave - Having a larger safe comes in very handy to store all the nightly  "winnings" from the casino!  Regards 😜

Switched to 831, which we had been in before. Mobility problems require me to be closer to the elevator. We were in this suite twice before and were very happy. I like the pole because it creates a separation between bed and sofa, if you close the curtain.

PS. Sister and her hubby have just joined us on this cruise.
