We are in E 421 for the Mexican riviera this spring! Fun to see it in person even if it is one of hundreds exactly the same!  Following these trips is almost as good as bein* there. How much to rent the bikes?  Thx for all your comments.

The bikes were $25 for 1 hr, $40 for 2 hrs and $55 for 3 hrs 

In a town the size of Skagway, you can cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time.

Enjoy the room this spring-you will love it!

Hello!  Exactly!! Such a great deal to pay the obstructed price for that view 😊 We received your airport transfer voucher by mistake and took it to guest services to make sure it found its way to you… We should have just knocked on the door and brought it over 😉😂

Note that these are in the smoking section, if that bothers you. There are two smoking areas on the ship.  Deck 17 aft with chairs, tables and is covered. Sheltered from the wind. No cabins around.  Another area on Deck 7 port aft.  Just past the library. Partial covered and has nice teak loungers.  Large overhang and quite windy.  Alfredos has great gluten free pizza.  Crown grill is superb as usual.  Room service delivery has been fast with less then 20 min wait, but then we only ordered premade stuff.

Mina may I ask exactly what you did and who you contacted regarding the receipt for your prepaid specialty restaurant reservations?  I have prepaid for 2 nights for two and the only receipt I have is the amounts showing on my credit card bill.  The reservations currently show on the app but nowhere is there anything that shows that they are prepaid.  I contacted my PVP and all he seems to come up with is telling me that he can see the charges and send me and email stating so and copies of what shows on the app at his end and that is just the reservations.  Is there something that you got from Santa Clarita that I should have?  I don't want to get on our cruise and spend my time at Passenger Services trying to get this resolved.  Thank you for any information you can provide.

Just a couple of other comments…

The crew was fantastic all week. The cruise director and staff were hysterical. It felt so good to laugh!!! 
 

Upon arriving, I was one of those flagged for the blue lane. Just a minor glitch. I didn’t have a credit card attached to my account. *gasp*. I also had a minor glitch with my medallion. It took <5 min to correct it. Overall, we liked the medallion. 
 

I thought the quality of the food in the buffet better than in the past. Except for the soupy scrambled eggs. The variety was understandably lacking but I get that. Alfredos and the noodle bar are good. We enjoy the crown grill on every cruise. 
 

We always recommend Alaska to anyone interested in taking a cruise.

@CruzinNoony I enjoyed seeing you two again. Safe travels.

If you have a res, it has been paid for.  You won't have a res pre-cruise without paying for it in some fashion.  Take a screenshot or take a copy of your Cruise Travel Summary from the Personalizer which will list your on-board purchases made prior to departure.

Unfortunately this is not the case.  We had two prepaid that we tried to prove with screenshots backed up by credit card charges from Princess for 58.00 x 2.  We were successful in getting the "promo" dinners as reserved, as well as the gifted dinner from our TA, but not the prepaid.  Make sure you have the Princess receipt.  I have several cruises that show Reservations but have not been paid also.

I hear you on this.  I probably wasn't thinking it through as I have not reserved Specialty Dining yet in the MC App (just pretended to in order to test it).  SO, is the problem that when you book Specialty Dining via MC App, it doesn't make it over and appear in the Travel Summary - which is obtained in the Cruise Personalizer.  Probably NOT. 

 

Is there a "Princess Receipt"?  I am thinking a SD reservation in MC App is going to charge to the credit card setup in MC App - yes, just did it again and it suggests using the card I have added to MC App, or there is an option to add another one.  I am not going further as don't want to make a res, so are you saying the App sends a receipt out after completing the booking?  I would agree a good idea to keep that since who can trust the App not to "lose" or "drop" the res at this stage? 

 

How were the reservations made that are remaining unpaid?

DOH!!  The Personalizer isn't going to have a record of the purchase of Specialty Dining made in the MC App.

At the winemaker's dinner last month, they served a cocktail made with vanilla vodka, watermelon syrup, and champagne. I bought a bottle of the vodka and enjoyed more of them at the beach last week with friends. (I subbed cherry juice for the watermelon, and they were just as delicious.)

Correct! I just looked at the Travel Summary for an upcoming cruise and prepaid specialty dining isn’t listed. Also, no receipt emailed from MC app.

I had the same info with me, an email from princess customer services that I had prepaid.  They honored that. I also had my credit card receipts that princess emails to you.  You should be fine.

I have booked three specialty dinners and do not have any confirmation from Princess. I do have the screen shot of the purchases on my credit card. Also, screen shots of the confirmed reservations on my medallion app. That better be enough information since it’s all we have!

Thanks. I had found this but I'm looking for more of a trip report option rather than just a review. My daily report is long. Anyone know what the rules are here regarding linking to write ups on other sites?

How about just starting a new thread here on the Princess board and label it something like this: review of my Alaska cruise.

I found the ship passenger services people to be quite open to to the documentation I gave them - they know there are issues with the app, so if you have screen shots and your CC receipt - you should be perfectly fine.  When I explained that the reservations were not showing,  the first thing he asked me for was the CC receipt. Taking the screen shot of the reservation is a smart idea -- cause one I had booked through the app - disappeared.  But I think that one was due to doing a cabin upsell and the passenger services person found the reservation still attached to my old cabin number and just transferred it over.
