Guests will also be required to wear face masks prior to being seated in our main dining rooms and in the buffet area, and occasionally in other designated areas where larger number of guests may congregate."

The UK protocols are subtly more relaxed

1. Will I have to wear a face mask?

   Whilst we always recommend masks indoors, masks are required at the following locations: In lifts, retail shops, the casino, designated entertainment venues and prior to being seated in all dining areas. Masks are also required during embarkation, disembarkation and when going ashore, in keeping with local guidelines.

   Certain entertainment venues will be designated as “Sip and Cover” venues where you must wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth except while drinking.

   We’d always recommend guests wash their mask daily and choose a good quality, ideally medical grade, standard.

My husband and I were just on Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas out of Nassau for two weeks end of August into September.  Masking was required basically anytime you were walking around inside, and for some shows (they had some shows designated mask required if unvaccinated kids were allowed into that particular show time.). It never bothered us although we did occasionally have the oops, forgot to grab it before we walked out of the cabin.  It really isn’t that big of a deal, imo.

Just off Majestic this morning. The only places where masks were required was in the terminal pre/post cruise, in elevators, stores, and when going to and from our table for meals. It was suggested to wear them in crowded places where you couldn't distance (i.e. the theatre, when lining up to get on and off the ship) but it wasn't mandatory. Interestingly, the majority of people on board chose to wear masks most of the time! I guess we're all just used to it now. They obviously weren't required outside, but they came in quite handy to keep our noses warm, especially in Glacier Bay! For the few places where we had to wear them, and for all the places where we chose to wear them, it really wasn't a big deal and did not negatively affect our experience at all. We were just thankful to be able to cruise again!

Seems to us  wearing masks will be the norm until this virus is under control with herd   immunity  . Then there are always the new variants to protect against   just like the yearly flu .

That was exactly what we did when we were on the Coral, confined to our cabin but had to put our masks on to answer the door.
