Panorama casino (please no flaming)

For cruisers who gamble and recently sailed on the ship:

Is there a nonsmoking section in the casino?

Is there a separate nonsmoking casino, like I’ve read about on a few ships? (On the Miracle the nonsmoking area was on one side of the casino.) I’ve looked at the Panorama deck plans and can’t say I see a separate casino. I’ve not sailed on this ship before.

Is the casino really smoky? (Probably subjective.)

Thanks in advance!

When we went in Jan 2020 I think there was a non-smoking side but it was all connected . I think it was pretty smokey form a non-smokers perspective but maybe it will change now that you have to be actively gambling to smoke ...cant just sit at casino bar and smoke

I have been on Miracle in the past and Panorama earlier this month... Panorama had by far the smokiest casino that I have ever been in. I also saw another review from another person from my sailing with a similar comment.

I read an interesting article on the casino bar area published by Carnival on September 9, 2021.

In short, Carnival is closing all of the casino bars and placing upscale slot machines in those areas. You can still smoke in parts of the casino (I guess that depends on which ship) but must be sitting at and actively playing at a gaming table or at a slot machine.

Google "Carnival Cruise Line updates casino protocols across the fleet" to find that article.

I was on the Panorama 3 weeks ago (8/28 -9-4)  There is no separation in the casino.  I could not

find any area that was smoke free.

Some machines have a small sticker on them indicating "smoking" or "non-smoking".

There was no casino bar.

This reminds me of the day, when people could smoke on airlines. Of  course they had smoking and non-smoking sections. It seemed like I always got the seat in the no smoking section, just behind the smoking section!😬

I would have been on the Panorama in Dec., but postponed cruising for now.

Agree with others who said it’s ALL smell likes smoke. Yes, there is an official non-smoking section.

My lungs, nose & the smoke smell of my clothing would disagree though. Who the heck planned that so-called non-smoking area??   🫁👃🏼👚👖🥿🥿🤦🏻‍♀️

I wish I would have known this prior to booking we would have canceled.  We sail on 1/29/22.  My husband and I are non smokers but, love to hang out at the casino bar and also gamble.  We spend most of our time in the casino area.   Back to NCL where they have a separate inclosed casino just for the smokers and a nice bar in the casino.  Now we have to have our cocktail hour at a slot machine.

Most casino bars are alive and well. They only closed the casino bars on Vista class

The ALchemy bar is a great place to have cocktail hour and it is not smoky.  I would just go there instead of the stinky casino.  Have a good cruise.

All of Carnival casinos are currently non-smoking. No stinky no more.

The NCL separate non-smoking is only on two ships, the Bliss and the Encore; will be interested to see if the Prima continues with this design choice.  Celebrity casinos are smoke free fleet wide.  Princess allows it at some slot machines, but bans it everywhere else.

I'm assuming that you will be on the Panorama. We were on this ship in October and will be joining you again on the 29th. I second the opinion that the Alchemy Bar is a great place to hang out. The drinks are excellent and the servers extremely nice. I had no problem getting drinks while seated at the slot machines. On the other hand, smoking was still allowed in most sections of the casino and the smell was overwhelming. I don't smoke, but I also don't mind a second hand hit of nicotine. My DW and DD couldn't stand the place. It will be interesting to compare the difference on this cruise.

I was on the Panorama two weeks ago. Maybe my nose is off, but I didn't smell an ounce of smoke. Let alone it being the "smokiest". Smoking is not allowed in the casinos at the moment. Besides the Mardi Gras, no other Carnival ship has had less people smoking in its casino.

As far as the casino bar being absent, I absolutely hate it. The casino bar was always a fun, lively, bar. Also, my favorite part of the casino. Terrible, terrible, design choice.

Ha ha, this has to be a joke right?

Back in December Carnival announced no smoking in the casinos as a COVID related protocol.

So you mean to tell me that now that there is a no smoking policy in the casino, it doesn't smell like smoke anymore 🤣

The casinos are currently non-smoking. We got off the Miracle over NYE and the Casino was plenty packed while we were on-board. We actually gambled about 5x what we normally would because of the lack of smoke (I can't handle more than about 30 minutes on a casino floor here in NV or on a cruise ship). If they keep it non-smoking we'll be spending a lot more money in the casino, that's for sure. We gambled enough (and won) that we are now getting a ton of Casino offers!

Carnival has a lot of ozonators that can help eradicate the stench.

Sounds like me, but a different ship.
