beryl patricia Posted January 17, 2022 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2022 Hi we are looking at booking a cruise to Alaska in June 2023 - preferably aqua class A1 deck 11. Have been looking at different views about loud movie/music noise on deck 12, roof top terrace and also doors banging near cabins, has anyone stayed in these cabins, did you find them noisy, what cabins are near the doors and was/could it be a problem. We’ve been on other cruise lines, not particularly early risers but always before 9 and not early to bed although never manage to stay awake for late night disco ha ha. Look forward to any help you can give with choosing cabin. Thanks Gill

The doors don’t appear to slam as you say, no issues . Edited January 17, 2022 by If only
trabeler Posted January 17, 2022 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2022 One item to consider is that on the M-class, the A1 cabins on deck 11 have very minimal shade for the balconies while A2 on deck 9 have an overhang to provide shade / rain protection. Our preference is shade so we avoid the deck 11 cabins.

Phxazzcruisers Posted January 17, 2022 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2022 the only issue we ever had before moving to Suites was if your stateroom door and your neighbors shared a common center wall. We had some VERY rude guests next door to us who would leave their door on the lock open so their friends and family members could walk in all night long to party an let the door slam behind them. Happily Guest services after trying to get them to stop moved our stateroom.
Arizona Wildcat Posted January 17, 2022 #6 Share Posted January 17, 2022 Both decks are quiet in our experiences. No issues with slamming doors. The occasional rude neighbor can happen anywhere.
SbbquilterUT Posted January 17, 2022 #7 Share Posted January 17, 2022 We sailed on deck 9 Aqua for Alaska and loved the deep overhang so we could enjoy being out even when raining.
beryl patricia Posted January 18, 2022 Author #8 Share Posted January 18, 2022 Thank you so much for all your replies, great info - feeling excited to book our first cruise to Alaska and first time on Celebrity. Gill
bigbenboys Posted January 18, 2022 #9 Share Posted January 18, 2022 We've stayed in 1114 and 1116 on the Summit. We liked the location. Aft stairs take you to the Sunset bar and right into the Oceanview cafe. Very small overhang for Alaska. See photos.
jelayne Posted January 18, 2022 #10 Share Posted January 18, 2022 If you can get 1 of the aft facing Aqua cabins on deck 11 that would be ideal for Alaska. We have stayed in those cabins and the only noise from banging doors was occasionally someone would go down the back stairs from 11 to the Bar and 10 and let the door bang shut. TeaBag Posted January 18, 2022 #11 Share Posted January 18, 2022 (edited) Jelaine is right. These are lovely cabins. We have sailed 3 times in them. #1140 has the biggest balcony but it always goes quickly and is already gone for all the sailings in June. I don't know which week you are going or which direction. I looked at all 5 cruises in June and it seems there is more availability of the 5 aft cabins on the Seward to Vancouver direction. However, I found maybe one or two available on the Vancouver to Seward itinerary. We did hear loud music from the movie on deck 12, one day on Summit and asked Guest Relations to do something about it. Never bothered us at night as we were not out on the balcony. You say this is your first time on Millennium. Is it your first time on Celebrity? if you have sailed Celebrity before, you can get a one category upgrade. You can pay the price of an A2 and get an A1 but you must request this when booking. Have a great cruise and do spend a little time in our fair city!😀 Edited January 18, 2022 by TeaBag
