Two questions about OBC

I booked a May casino offer cruise that offered $200 OBC. I saw that symbol and when I paid my deposit it automatically applied the OBC in addition to my deposit. I wasn't thrilled that they did it automatically but it really doesn't matter since I now have to pay $200 less for final payment.

Thats the first time, I've ever heard of OBC being applied to the fare.

CORRECTION: I'd never seen it before either and thought it was strange so looked at it again. It turns out the OBC is still there. It only processed my deposit, not the OBC. Lately I've been doing solo cruises so there is usually only one fare, this one is for 2 so my deposit was doubled (PP). That makes more sense.

Looks like I can't access it b/c I booked through a travel agent. So annoying.

I have the same problem.  I originally booked through Carnival and switched to a TA, so even though I have an invoice from both showing OBC from Carnival, it doesn't show up as there is nothing about what I have paid etc.

Off topic somewhat but can we use the $600 OBC we received from a cancelled cruise in the casino and is there a way to download it onto a machine then cash out?

I looked in to this. You can use it in the casino but you can only cash out winnings, not the original balance. So if you put $100 in and it turned in to $130, you can cash out $30 and the remaining $100 goes back on your OBC

Just another issue with booking with a TA.

I always travel with my grandson and all onboard charges go directly on my credit card.  I have a cruise coming up next month with OBC....if he cannot go for some reason, will half of the OBC be deducted from my account?

I am trying to understand your point. If the OBC from the TA is not immediately showing, is your point it cannot be used yet? OTOH, if you never got OBC from a TA, it could never be used because you do not have it.🤦‍♂️

I booked through a TA. She verified my onboard credit but it did not show in my Carnival booking at all until I printed my final documents.  It does show there. I am cruising after March 15 and had no trouble prebooking excursions online and using the onboard credit at check out.

I booked through the website through my offers and I sail this Sunday. I do not see my OBC at all.  It is from a casino promotion so not sure if that matters??

I am in my Cruise Manager, planner - all of it and nada.  Hmmmm???

I know I have a $500 promotion. Luckily I emailed the casino for them to put it in writing when I arrive because I had an issue years ago.

Does anyone know if you book from a travel agent, will you be able to use your OBC before you cruise? Ours is at the end of May, I can't view my obc online but I have print outs on my receipt showing what it is. TIA

We booked through a TA and have some shareholder OBC. I was able to use it this morning for the internet package. I couldn't see anywhere that we had OBC until I went to check out, and on the page where you would enter your credit card info, just above that there was an option to use OBC.

Thank you, I do see it today when I go to check out! Its weird it doesn't show me how much I have but it covers what I have in my cart

On the topic of OBC....if I booked a cruise that had a $500 OBC perk, then apply my FCC to that booking, would the $300 OBC from the FCC be added to the original $500, giving me $800 total OBC? I only ask because my sister booked a cruise around Christmas last year that offered a $200 OBC, but when they applied her FCC from a canceled cruise, she only ended up with the $300 OBC total, and I thought it should have been $500.
