Proof of Booster

We're leaving on March 7 out of Jacksonville so the new 3 day testing if boosted rule will be in force.  My husband and I are both vaccinated and boosted but instead of stickers on our vaccine cards (like the first shots), the date and pertinent info was handwritten.  Are we the only ones who don't have a sticker like both the previous shots?  Scheduling 3 days out is easier for us but I don't want to get to the port just to be turned away because we tested a day too soon and they don't like our handwritten booster confirmations.

Did others get a handwritten booster on their vaccine cards?   It shows type of vaccine and an id number and where the booster was administered but I don't want to miss my cruise just because my pharmacy was out of stickers that day.

My booster was hand written probably because I got it at a different place from the first two. I'm not overly concerned- there have been a wide variety of different ways of recording the info on people's cards. In the end if Carnival has a question about it they can contact Walmart or probably have a way of looking it up, with my permission, to assure the validity.

When I got my booster, I had my card ready & the pharmacist said that they don't write the booster info on people's cards (this was at a Walgreens). So my card has no booster record written on it, but the booster is recorded in my records at my health department. I'm taking a print-out of that along when I cruise in a couple of weeks, along with my Covid vaccination card. I also have a QR code that they could scan with all my info, too. So I hope I'm covered!

Some only write it in. Most put those nice stickers with printout but when I got my youngest done at a county shot clinic, they only write it in but it still has all the info. Plus all info is sent to the state database anyway so there is an electronic record for everyone also.

Very strange, never heard of that. I would have asked for a manager/supervisor. Seems to go against all logic and this is the first case I've ever heard of a provider not providing a written/printed label with date, lot and site/provider info and solely relying on the electronic version. Interesting.

I agree. Very strange indeed. I wouldn't have accepted their excuse. I would have kicked it up to management level. I had my booster at Walgreen's and my wife had her booster at the Tom Thumb pharmacy. In both instances, all of the pertinent information was written on our CDC vaccine card.

I also agree that that sounds very strange. Isn't the purpose of the card to be available for the information to be recorded? Isn't that why they put in extra lines at the very beginning before boosters?

Interesting.  I received my Booster at Walgreen’s and the pharmacist recorded it (handwritten) on my Vaccination Card as the third entry.

Look up the info and write it on the card. We never got cards in the beginning and I asked for one when I got the booster. I asked if I could get one for my husband as well and they printed out a card with his name and birthdate. Told me we could just look it up and write it in. Perfectly acceptable.

For my second shot one of the helpers at Dodger Stadium held up a card with the information needed to add to my card and asked me to take a picture and write it in myself. The records in my HMO and State of California are online and show all three shots. The QR code on the phone is accepted as proof.

Carnival doesn't care if the CDC card is hand written, but they will not accept handwritten Covid-19 test results.

As for writing in your own booster, without receiving the dose, is not a good idea. I know a person who did that and was tossed on the curb from a casino who checked the online record for the CDC card.

I have two cards because our office manager laminated all of our original ones.  I got my booster at Walgreens and the lady there didn't even put my name on the card! It's handwritten in a weird blue ink, like a marker so it's going to not match when I write my name in.

There should be an electronic record of the immunization.

FYI, husband and I tested negative yesterday so we're set for Monday!  We tested at CVS, same as where we were boosted so when I downloaded the test results to print I also found the booster record and downloaded and printed it.  Both have the required info (name, dob, etc) and the phone number of the pharmacy in case Carnival wants to check.   I'll have the backup info to match up to my vaccination card. Feeling  a whole lot better about it now!

Again, thanks for the answers, everyone!  Happy Sailing ALL!
