A FEW ?- SPECIFICALLY TO KONIGSDAM

Hello, I would like to know if anyone has the current duty free liquor list for the Konigsdam Gran Mariner & Stoli Elite to be particular.

Also, I am planning to put a few hundred into the casino from a gift card - at the end can I cash out for $$ (assuming I have any left).

Has anyone have experience with GTY on this ship? I have always gotten an upgrade (lucky) & am wondering with the ships being so empty if they are still doing that. I got an upgrade email but prices are about what I could have booked the category for in the first place. I did see spa rooms available. Does that get you entrance into a steam room if they have one? (& is it co ed?)

Do they have designer brands in the shops, I have a lot of OBC.

Is it easy to get a table for two in anytime dining? Can you make reservations in advance?

Thanks!

You can reserve a day and time for up to 6 people in the MDR for no charge. Look under Specialty Dining. Yes, we all know the MDR isn't Specialty Dining, but that's where it is. Just got off the Rotterdam and with reduced number of passengers, getting a table for two was never a problem - with or without a reservation.

The shops didn’t have much that appealed to me.  Some things from Chicos and some Tommy Bahama shirts for men.  Quite a few logo items but the quality looked cheap. They do have some nice purses, coach and other brands, but they are priced way higher than you could get them otherwise.

They have a lot of tables for two in the dining room.  You shouldn’t have any problem.  We reserved a table because we wanted the same waiter every night.   See the maitre’d when you board.

Yes, you can cash out for $$ in the casino.

If the upgrades didn’t sell well in the first email round they will send another email with a drop in price.

If I recall correctly, the men’s and lady’s saunas are included no matter what room you are in.  Access to the thermal suite will require a pass and that is not part of the spa room amenities.

You may make a date and time Main Dining Room reservation online at the HAL website but cannot specify a table-for-two.

Note that Shops Duty Free Liquor is delivered to your stateroom around dinner time on the day before disembarkation day.  Here is the price list:

Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for! Good to know I can get Gran Mariner at a great price!

I'm assuming that during covid they are not seating strangers together in the dining room.

They will ask you if you are willing to share a table.  If you say yes they will sit you with strangers.  If you wish to dine alone you just have to say so.

No access to spa area because you are in the spa cabins.....But the gym/spa s located one deck below the spa cabins.  The Greenhouse Spa Thermal Suites are great (yes, coed and it's a steam room and more)  but again, no special access privileges for being in a spa cabin.

We were upgraded to the spa level once based on a price drop after final payment.  We'd never pay $$$ for the level even though it is quiet, tucked away and near the gym/spa.

Yes (possible for a wait if during prime time....guessing 6:30 to 730) and Yes.

(Think about fixed dining...early or late sittings and the table for 2 can be assigned for the entire cruise....that's what we do)

We often book guarantees and have always gotten an assignment that is above the base guarantee level.....But as you know, you cannot count on it....On our October & December 2021 cruises (not K'dam), both assigned cabins were higher levels than the guarantee.

the last two cruises (post Covid) they were obstructed balcony to higher level balconies (not obstructed view).  No category jumps.

pre-Covid (back in the day) I do recall category jumps from Inside to Oceanview.

Enjoy the Koninsgsdam.....beautiful ship designed right....IMO.

Except for the verandah toilets that require a body shift of 15 degrees to fit.

I noticed that my planner for the 7 day says all nights are smart casual. Do they not have formal nights on 7 day cruises anymore?

The Gala nights will show up once you are onboard. Just got off from the 25-day Circle Hawaii Collector and even while onboard the final 7-day Mexico portion did not show the Gala Nights until back in San Diego awaiting departure for Mexico. Riversedge is correct we had two. Both were on sea days. I believe they were Monday and Friday nights.

Ok, does anyone have info on the sideways inside cabins. I chose one on deck 4 since there is quick access to outside. Other choice was ocean view on deck 7 all the way forward & it appears there is a crew stairway next to it that I'm afraid would be noisy. Any thoughts?

Did do a review on #4044 aways back - not sure you can find it.  . March 2019 did BTB for 21 days in it . Nice veranda - bed very close to hallways - nice space between end of bed and desk.  Found the cabin on the dark side as patio door is off to the side because of the layout.

I think the promenade (very narrow one- unlike signature ones) is on #3. As I was waiting for hip surgery ( was not in the plan at time of booking)  was not able to do any extra walking on this cruise. Had things been different fo me I would have really missed the wide promenade and deck chairs on other ships!   We could fit 4 on our deck - almost a triangle - not long and narrow like regular veranda cabins have.  # 4042 had huge veranda - cabin boys brought in 2 pool side loungers along with the regular deck furniture for those occupants!  # 4046 had a very extra  long veranda , but narrow.like regulars.

I'm in an inside right now - I was told there is a walkable deck outside on #4 but it doesn't appear that way if you had a balcony in that area, correct?

Deck 3 has walkaround promenade but unlike the smaller HAL ships there are no cabins on Deck 3.  Look at the cabin reviews on Halfacts website.

I was in a large interior similar to 4104 and 4115, but on Deck 5. I really liked the size of the cabin as it had a full sized couch unlike the other interior cabins. We liked it enough after spending 14 days in it to book it again for our California Coastal cruise this month. We almost turned down an upsell to a family ocean view cabin since we liked these cabins so much, but having the extra bath convinced us to take the upsell; otherwise, we would have stayed where we were.
