it doesnt have the bells and whistles of larger fleet but it was more than acceptable to me.   definitely a different vibe and feel to the ship.  i thought she was great, except for not having Dive In movie screen (which i really, really like during warmer months)

Awww shoot. I love the movies. So no big screen at all?

We sailed on her a few weeks ago and had a blast.  She is older but has the upgrades like Alchemy Bar, Guys Burger Bar, Red Frog and Blue Iguana.  The staff was some of the nicest and most appreciative we have experienced.  The dining room staff was great and our food was always served hot.  They were very attentive and the food was very good.  The shows were some of the best I have seen.  There was a Diva show and a Rock show both were excellent.  I would sail her again in a heartbeat.

The Elation was the first cruise ship I sailed on so it has a very special place in my heart.  It is not a mega-ship so it does not have all the extra features, but as a first-ship experience, it was wonderful and exactly, if not more, what I had hoped.  I was starting to write that the staff was friendly and service was great, the food was delicious with a wide variety, guests were friendly too so we were able to have great conversations at dinner and around the ship, and the overall experience was exceptional - but I could say that about all my cruises since then on Carnival.  I would definitely sail on the Elation again. In fact, this has me thinking  - I am not sure what port she departs from now, but I may need to book another cruise on her for nostalgia.

I'm sailing Elation this weekend. I'm considering a mini review with pics when I get back. Currently she sails from Port Canaveral, but will be .moving to Jacksonville. We last sailed Elation in 2012. I personally really enjoy the Fantasy class in the fleet. By the end of this year, there will only be 2 left :classic_sad:. So if interested, better book it now.

We last sailed on her in 2018 and will be sailing on her again this weekend. Wonderful small ship vibe. Everything is so easy to get to, it is a lively little ship. She has a lot of the little upgrades that make for fun times. No real specialty dining and the theater is understandably small. The piano bar is awesome and located right on the atrium so it always draws a crowd. The casino bar almost always has a live band playing in the evening and is a fun spot. She can rock and roll a bit in open waters. As mentioned up the thread, these Fantasy class ships are an endangered species now so hopefully this weekend's cruise won't be my last on this class. Wonderful little ship.

We sailed on her in December and had a great time, in fact she’s definitely one of our favorite ships. Very beautiful decorated and maintained, staff was excellent, food was actually just  okay but that doesn’t seem to be specific to this ship.

I believe the ship was sailing pretty full or close to that but other than at lido at times it really wasn’t bad at all.

We cruised on Elation in Feb of 2020, right before cruising was shut down and as I recall the staff, ship, and food were perfectly fine.

That trip was one of the few times I had a suite, the price of a junior suite on the top deck was just a little bit more than a balcony.  That turned out to be a bad choice, EVERY morning way before I cared to be awake they were moving chairs around on the open deck just above my head making sure that I couldn't sleep.

Those were more than a few years ago.

Lots of balconies added since then. And the cabins on the Grand deck.

I believe that was 2017…. EM

You're right:    how time flies, etc.

I looked up the metadata for those pics of Elation above

and the date is 10th. April, 2016 - at around 8 a.m.

We just booked this ship for April 23-28.  We had to cancel the Legend cruise that left Baltimore yesterday. 😔 But hubby said go ahead!

I appreciate this Topic, makes me more excited!  Thanks everyone.  We booked a balcony on Deck 6, Aft.  Nassau and Princess Cay, so PC will be new to us.

She is scheduled for drydock January 21-February 10, 2023. No details are available yet, but I presume she'll get the new livery in addition to any routine maintenance. There are still a handful of pre-Funship 2.0 venues, it will be very telling if there are any updates.

We’ve been on her a couple years ago just before the pandemic. Was a nice ship. My only complaint, especially now that I’m a senior citizen and enjoy a little comfort, is that the balcony rooms that were newly added do not have a sofa to sit on like all the other carnival ships we’ve been on! Not only did it not have a sofa, there were no chairs either! We had to bring a deck chair in from the balcony to have a place to sit! All the balcony rooms are like that, so look at the description for the room you’re looking at before you choose.

Oh no!  I just called Carnival to see about a Junior Suite - and they are $260.00 more!  So I am being cheap, and staying with the sofaless cabin!  Sigh!
