GTY ?

Once a GTY cabin is assigned will Celebrity allow you to move to another cabin in the same class? Got a C3 GTY assigned but there is another available C3 I’d prefer. My TA says no changing a GTY assigned cabin. I know I’ve done it before. Perhaps not on Celebrity.

Celebrity has also been known to do this.  You should ask your TA to make the call and perhaps look for another TA.

Yes.  Agree your TA simply doesn't want to do it.  You can move to any open cabin in the exact category booked GTY.

...or perhaps just misinformed.  But either way, it may deserve at least a discussion with them if not a change.

 

And to the OP - call your TA back and inform them that they can indeed make a change.  It can be done on line through their booking site.  Or at worst via a phone call to Celebrity.

We booked a OV guaranty directly through Celebrity. We were given the lowest deck right below the Tuscan grill restaurant. I got Celebrity to change it to another category 8 room but far aft. Our ship looks very crowded right now- it was only 50% booked a few weeks ago. We got a move up offer but doubt we will get anything. I would definitely book through a TA next time. Celebrity tells you nothing.

I was able to do it for my last summit cruise. I used a travel agent for that cruise, but now I book directly with celebrity.  Changes seem easier when dealing directly with the cruise company.
