Egg platters, sandwiches, pancakes, French toast, even a maple bacon milkshake for 2.99.  Hoping  it's open next month.

That actually sounds good… I might have to try that next month if it’s open!

Are you saying JR was not open AT ALL during this entire sailing!? If i had realized they had scavenged allll of the staff from this ship for others I would have chosen differently. If thats the case its yet another thing included in what we paid extra for and are not recieving. Sorry, I know there are still issues but customers have a right to know that before purchase not after. Not all of us will have the ability to "try that next month if its open".

Limited avai of their commonly stocked liquors, solarium, JR, portside ect either closed or minimal hours, NO aqua show and if i read it right no cats either????the list goes on. I did not pay for a ride on a boat. I paid for the activities and offerings advertised on a cruise vacation.  I wouldnt tollerate a bait and switch anywhere else why is it ok here?

Here are the hours for Johnny Rockets today. Been the same every day. To me, without the UDP, I’m not paying $12 for it.

As far as the attraction for breakfast, we liked sitting out on the Boardwalk —- for Caribbean cruises it’s not yet crazy hot and humid at that hour. Service was swift, food very good.

We had an 11:30 boarding time which became 12:30. We arrived at about 12 and dropped the luggage off with the porter and then went to Costco. By then, the parking garage was already full and they were using the surface lot. We had a $1.50 hot dog, killed about 20 minutes and went back. We got a spot in the surface lot, by now it was about 12:25. We headed to the terminal and found the guy with the megaphone. He said we could go in as they were about to let the 12:00 people in. Once inside , they had not yet let people through security, so we waited another 15 minutes or so. Ok the ship around 1:05 as I recall.

It will be a s+^* show. As Benny said there is no capacity outside to handle the people and no separate line by boarding time. Best advice is to pack your patience ——— I left mine in the car😳😳.

With the time slots do they still do the priority boarding. Last trip pre covid Fort Lauderdale was 2 hour long lines with arrival times. We waited 30+ minutes until someone finally came out and let us know where priority boarding guests could go. The tiny signs were blocked by rows of back and forth lines. If so where is the fast/ez pass line 😁

Unless I missed it, I didn’t see any priority lines, at least to get through security. After security there was a separate Suite/Pinnacle line. It wasn’t much quicker than the regular line and is the longest walk through the terminal to the escalator up to the ship

Thanks for keeping up with this thread, Benny.  Loved reading it everyday.

We are boarding tomorrow and right now dreading it.  DH is in a wheelchair and it is difficult to push.  We have always been able to go right to the front of the line because of the accessibility issue and also being Pinnacle.  Any idea if that will still be available?  With the wheelchair being so  difficult for me to push I really hope so.  Katherine

With the wheelchair, maybe they have a priority line through security. If they do, it would be on the far right as you enter the terminal building. Good Luck.  Keep saying "by 2:00, I'll have a drink in my hand" .😆😆😆

Whiskey/Bourbon update. Makers Mark has appeared in Solarium Bar, Suite Lounge, Casino Bar. Was already in Lime and Coconut. Buffalo Trace also in Casino Bar.

Love reading your posts and pictures. How are current seas? It’s very windy off the coast of NJ. We also board tomorrow

Sailed through some thunder storms over night. Top outside decks were closed this morning at 7ish. Clearing up a bit now, no rain, a little wind. Currently we are roughly off the coast of Cape Hatteras.

Seas were like glass yesterday.

In our experience, the Oasis class are the most stable ships, probably due to their large beam (width).

If you cruise often, I would recommend that you go and purchase a scooter.  That's what I did for my DW and it works out great.  Got the Golden Technology Scoot Around Carry On which was built for cruising.  Folds down to 12 inches in height and also has an optional FAA compliant battery for flying.  Have used it on 3 B2B's totalling 40 days so far this year and have another 40 days booked later this year.

I was talking only about breakfast!  I have never been there for breakfast even before pandemic when it was open.  JR is open for lunch.

Loving all of your photos and reviews.

I am so impressed with the food on this cruise.

Food quality and presentation has been amazing.

Thank you so much!  Yes the food presentation on this cruise has been great.  Don’t be afraid to try different food at MDR.  Even the vegan options are good.  Just remember that they are liberal with the descriptions on the menu 😂 so if it’s not something you thought it should be, you always always get something else!

I totally missed the weather event last night!  I did not feel any motion … wow this feel is stable!  I am on the forward side in the middle (deck wise)

If you are being dropped off there is a person that directs traffic as you approach the drop off area in your car… you could ask the person how to make it easier for you… he might be able to assist.  Again it’s not a large area like Miami or Fort Lauderdale, they have the luggage carts out to collect luggage which takes up more space.  I hope they learned from this week and made improvements but it’s the Port Authority so…

Please do share some interesting facts … I do like this event!

Some interesting facts:

4800 expected next week, then 5000 or so week after that, then 5000+ through June.

Ship draft (amount of ship under the waterline) is about 30ft. Need additional 3 ft of depth to sail, if going very slow.

When the ship is going faster it “squats” or sinks lower in the water. At 10pm, it squats about 7 Ft.

Retractable smoke stacks make it possible to fit under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge.

Those retractable stacks were originally necessary to get under the Great Belt Bridge in Denmark when the ship was built and to get to the open ocean. That was 2009. Never needed again until they repositioned to NJ.

Behind the Scenes tour has not operated since Covid. However, I sensed some optimism that they will resume, most likely not until the crew mask requirement ends.

Oasis has 7 godmothers, one for each “neighborhood”. Their pictures are to the left of the Guest Services desk.

From the pool deck you can see something that looks like a rocket launcher. It’s the crane that is used to raise and lower plants and trees into Central Park.
