Rare MisterOJ2 Posted May 12, 2022 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2022 I went on the Valor in December. I'm going on the Glory in October. They're the same class, based out of the same port, with a similar theme and naming convention. I'm mixing the names of these ships up all the time. Does anyone else do that with Carnival ships? Which ones are you always getting the name wrong on?
Rare Saint Greg Posted May 12, 2022 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2022 (edited) I think the biggest problem is Sunshine/Sunrise. Fortunately they made victory Radiance instead of Sunset. Edited May 12, 2022 by Saint Greg 4

If you're trying to remember the difference between what each looks like inside, just remember Valor is all about the eagles --- EVERYwhere. And Rosie the Riveter in the Lido buffet. Never been on Glory (3 times on Valor) but the decor looks like it may be more attractive/more diverse than Valor. Someone may disagree.

Amyracecar Posted May 12, 2022 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2022 I wouldn't worry, my Husband can't even tell the difference between most lines we've been on, let alone ships in the same class. 😆 1

AQW Posted May 13, 2022 #9 Share Posted May 13, 2022 I'm sure I'm not alone in historically mixing up Inspiration/Imagination, both of which were sailing the same 3- and 4-night Baja itineraries from Long Beach (pre-pandemic).

Yep, as you can tell by my signature, it was always a little confusing between Imagination & Inspiration, and we very often sailed both. However, IIRC, Inspiration's schedule was 4-night (M-F) and 4-night (F-M), and Imagination was Sun-Thu & Thu-Sun, so we most often went on Inspiration because that fit our work schedule best. MississippiMom Posted July 5, 2022 #11 Share Posted July 5, 2022 I understand the whole cruise ship size limitation from New Orleans & Mobile, but I sure wish it was more than just Conquest Class and Fantasy Class ships down there. We have sailed Conquest and Glory in the past and are now considering Valor for 2023. There is a feeling of deja vu, that's for sure.
Hoosierpop Posted July 5, 2022 #12 Share Posted July 5, 2022 Ha. Yep. The difference between Valor and Glory to me is the inside Red Frog that the valor has. But I’m the same way with the various classes. Dream and Breeze……

I'll never forger her. 🥰 But yes, I've mixed up Sunshine and Sunrise a time or two, and even Magic, because I was ready for Norfolk to resume cruises with Sunshine, and had that in my head for a while. Skippy Posted July 5, 2022 #14 Share Posted July 5, 2022 We’re going on the glory next month. We have sailed on Splendor which was very pink at the time in 2016. Is it still pink. We also sailed on the Destiny in 2001. Don’t even know if that ship is still around.

I know there is for Mobile, but there have been bigger ships going in and out of New Orleans before the two current Conquest class ships were stationed there. Dream has been there, and Norwegian Breakaway sometimes goes to New Orleans which about the same length as Vista class but I don't know about ones larger than those. I have cruised out of New Orleans on the Dream, I hope they bring that class back to NOLA.
grantbob Posted July 6, 2022 #19 Share Posted July 6, 2022 I've been on both the last few years out of NO. The way I remember them is the interior decor. The Glory is Colors and the Valor is the dead president heads, eagles and flags.
jsglow Posted July 7, 2022 #20 Share Posted July 7, 2022 I also wish they'd bring Dream back to New Orleans sending Glory over to Galveston. That would give both those ports multiple ship classes. I can also see that Dream will be squeezed out at some point when Jubilee arrives.
evandbob Posted July 7, 2022 #21 Share Posted July 7, 2022 There are 5 ships in this class: Glory, Valor, Liberty, Freedom and Conquest. I've been on all of them, maybe a total of 15 to 20 times? These 5 ships are basically physical clones of each other. The main differences are in "decor"as noted, not in layout or design.
