Ice Cream on the Celebrity Summit

Hello. We are ice cream lovers, first timers going on the Celebrity Summit on the May 23rd sailing.

 

What are the ice cream options on the Summit?

Regular ice cream? Soft serve? Gelato? Where on the ship?

Are there charges for any of it?

Gelato is available at Cafe Bacio for a fee. Not sure on the price.

 

Hard scoop ice cream is no charge in the Oceanview Buffet (on the end of one side of the buffet area IIRC). That area has yummy cookies also. There's always ice cream on the menu in the MDR also at no charge.

 

I think there's soft serve somewhere but I don't recall.

Welcome to Celebrity!

 

The Ocean View buffet will have a selection of ice cream.  With the exception of sugar free (which I was told is made through a different process) Celebrity makes their ice cream on board.  While there will always be "basic" flavors such as vanilla and chocolate the flavors will vary each day.  There is no additional fee.

 

Gelato is available for a fee and will be located near the Cafe al Bacio.

 

Soft serve is available and is generally located in the Mast Grill area.

fun flavours of ice cream. Some for one day only! If you see it on the dining room menu it should show up at the buffet the next day!!

For a real treat get an Affogato. Get a scoop of vanilla gelato then take it to Cafe al Bacio and have them put a shot of espresso on it. YUM!!!

1)  You're an Elite (or higher) CC member

2)  You have the drink package and order an Affogato (Espresso, chocolate syrup, served over one scoop of gelato)

On E-Class ships the Gelato is in the OV, all other ships including the OP's Summit it's by Cafe al Bacio

There are 2 entrances to Oceanview Cafe from the pool area.  The one on the left has the ice cream area as soon as you come in. 

 

They have 4 or 5 kinds flavors of hard scoop.  Things like dulce de leche,  vanilla, chocolate, Mint chocolate, strawberry, peanut butter etc.  Different flavors everyday.  They also have the soft serve machines here, vanilla and chocolate.  They also have a couple of jars of cookies and usually chocolate macaroons or coconut cranberry one.  They usually have a gluten free dessert here too.

We always enter the Oceanview on the right but make sure we check out the ice cream flavors for dessert on our way out on the other side.  😉

You are correct. It is directly across from Al Bacio.

1. You are Elite, or higher, CC member and/or,

2. You are in a RS/PH/Iconic Suite with unlimited specialty dining

all CC members get one free scoop gelato,. Elite do not get more than the one free scoop

Got the answer...You can sign up for CC before your sailing and you're the tier of "Preview", so excluding Preview/someone on their first sailing, everyone else (Classic or higher) can receive one free scoop

Thanks for the answer to the 1st stipulation regarding CC member, but what about the 2nd?  If you are staying in an upper level suite with unlimited specialty dining, is the gelato also free and unlimited?

FREE ICE CREAM is served in most restaurants that serve dinner, some even for lunch, Sushi serves Sorbet

 

I never mentioned suites but someone reported if you're in an upper suite you can get unlimited gelato from the gelato stand

agree - it's delicious - and in the past it was included in the classic package; whereas there was a fee just for a scoop of the gelato.  (not sure if this is still valid, but it has been in the past)

Never left Millenium & Solstice (haven't been on Edge yet) class Oceanview cafe after lunch without an ice cream cone in my hand!!

With 24 posts regarding ice cream I am surprised that none of us mentioned that the Ocean View ice cream station includes syrup and sprinkle toppings!  A multitude of ways to customize an ice cream craving!
