They only show ESPN. So if it's not on ESPN it won't be shown onboard.

Very Untrue. Although this was not American Football, in 2019 on the Legend the bartender in the sportsbar and I enjoyed a Twenty20 match.

I wrote that Amazon had the TNF rights in my email to CCL.  And that was the response, I assume, by John  Heald.   Guess I'll find out in Sept.

I'll let the captain barrow my Amazon Prime login, we can just make a rental agreement that I will be renting the lido jumbo-tron out for the duration of the game for $1. It's personal viewing and being in international water should help keep things grey. 😁

Just putting this out there.  I sent an email to CCLSupport and this was the response:

Hello Mate,

It will depend on the satellite broadcasting and location of the ship. If we do have access, we we will have it on.

Cheers,
John

Key word -- satellite broadcasting....

The difference between a satellite broadcast and streaming services might be lost on the CCL folks who've responded to you...

Sunday games aren't a problem (yet) because DirecTV has Sunday Ticket included in their commercial packages.  Monday night games aren't a problem because ESPN carries those.

I don't think DirectTV is even going to bid on Sunday Ticket.

I'm a bit biased as a YouTube TV subscriber... my guess is Google.

I just don't see the average Amazon or Apple TV viewer being a sports junkie, and Apple has sunk enough money into producing content that they just might not want to get into a bidding war over a four month a year product.  I also don't see Sunday Ticket going to Amazon given they already have Thursday Night locked in.

YouTube TV is a better fit for Sunday Ticket because they're not positioning themselves as "original programming" or exploiting a catalog they own.  Instead, they're trying to be competition for cord-cutters who still want the basic lineup they got with Comcast, Dish Network or DirecTV.   Live sports is in line with that.

Ask at the sports bar if they have access to it.  Sometimes they have more than what they show; if no one has particular interest with whats on, and they can show your preferred event, they will.  It may be a different feed than you are used to though depending on their subscriptions

Looks like the largest tablet screen size is 13 or so inches. That and NFL+ might do the trick.

You don't have to limit yourself to a tablet.  I know that an Android phone plus a USB->HDMI cable lets you mirror onto your cabin TV pretty much at full screen resolution.  It's been a while since I've owned an Apple product, but I used to be able to screen mirror off of an iPad via a HDMI adapter as well and do pretty much the same thing.

I'll probably try it, but I think they said there was a way they could stop that.

Well, it says you can't cast...

New Title: Can I cast NFL+ content to my Smart TV or connected device?

No, NFL+ does not support casting at this time. While some features of NFL+ are limited to viewing on a phone or tablet, NFL+ content—like game replays, live game audio, and on-demand programming —can be accessed through your TV or connected device from the NFL App.

Casting is different than screen mirroring, at least on an Android device...

Casting requires the app to support it.

Mirroring is done thru the phone's OS, and I'm not sure the app even knows about it.

I have both Android and Apple phones so may give it a go.

If you have a Samsung, you'll want to make sure Dex is disabled (default):

Settings > Connections > More Connection Settings > HDMI Mode > toggle between Samsung DeX and Screen Mirroring

You'll also need a USB-C -> HDMI cord.  I paid $20 for a 10' cord, but they come shorter and cheaper.

I tried this on last cruise on Carnival Radiance End Feb 2022. Brought a universal remote and hdmi cord to connect to tv in room. All inputs were disabled 😟 Good luck trying.

It was not from lack of trying options, inputs etc. Plus we werent even streaming live, just trying ro get movie from my tablet ro the tv. Nothing worked, husband is very tech savy too. Gone are the days we brought a Nintendo portable and it worked.

The TVs on cruises ships tend to be the cheapest commercial sets - like they might put in hotels. They disable what they can, but many TVs still have buttons somewhere you can monkey around with. Google whatever model number is in your cabin. But when it stops working altogether, it might be embarrassing to contact guest services to help fix the problem you created.

I'll be on the Magic in September and I'm wondering if Carnival will have the Thursday night game on or will it be blocked because Amazon Prime has acquired the rights to the game.    I'm skeptical that Carnival's weak wifi service will have the capacity to stream it on my laptop/phone.  Any IT folks able to offer advice?

Following up on this, was carnival able to show Thursday night football?

I am hoping that the other lines come around to Starlink and start offering it on their ships. As best as I can tell the Starlink deal with RCCL is not exclusive so hopefully slow internet will be a thing of the past. Of course coverage is not 100% but still better than the existing. A guy can dream.

No Thursday night fooyball last week on the Sunshine.

Had college football Saturday and a couple of NFL games Sunday in the casino and sportbar. (GB and Atlanta games that I saw walking through)

No channels in the cabins that play sports or any sports news.

HGTV, Food Network, Nickelodeon, cartoon network, etc.

It seems Starlink is noticeably slowing down as more people use it and so I think slow Internet may be here to stay.
