Casino discount offers:

I have an email for casino insider discount, it says I will see the discounted price on the summary page.

I have tried several cruises and non of them show a discount in summary.

Is there a way to see what cruises will have a discount without going into each cruise and selecting a cabin catagory to get to the summary page?

Yes, I am logged in when I do the search.

Thanks

Just repeating your question, electro. I hope someone answers.

IF you spend any reasonable amount of time in the casino over the course of your sailing, you are likely to receive a casino cash offer towards the end of the sailing.  The $$$ amount of the offer will likely be somewhat commensurate with the time and $$$ you spent in the casino for that cruise.  IT is not clear to me that that relates directly to any future "free cruise" offer you may receive.

What would you consider "reasonable" amount of time?

I cruised on Rotterdam last February and did not spend a penny in the casino.  I am booked for Nieuw Amsterdam this February and would love to spend some time playing slots.  I have always considered slot play as a "donation" to the cruise line but it would be FUN to actually receive something back.

Thanks.

This was the first cruise in about four cruises where we didn't get a free stateroom casino offer at the end of the cruise and only got free play casino offer. I will say I spent more time and money in the casino on this B2B cruise we were on than any other cruise. I know it's a mystery as to what triggers what but we are glad we got something, so that was nice. We cruise again on Dec 20th, and not going to spend as much time and money in the casino this time so we will see happens.

My cruise last month I was the only one in our group that didn’t get a come back and play offer. I’ve had to ask for it before when it wasn’t at my door so when I did this time the host checked and told me I needed to accumulate minimum 1200 points by the 2nd to last night to get something. I usually play more towards the end of the week as the slots seem looser to me and our 2nd to last night was a late departure from Cozumel so didn’t even go to the casino. Lesson learned.

When all was said and done I received a Come Back Offer of $250 OBC, no free cruise.  I had accumulated over 3000 points.  I spent $700-900 and almost broke even.  I hit a $200 and a $500 jackpot.  And, of course had the $200 obc.  I played very little after I received my offer.

Some info for everyone: after much time on the phone with various HAL staff and finally being transferred to their casino services (yes, there is such a thing) I was told that all casino tracking, services, rewards, etc. come through a separate office at CCL: the Ocean Players Club. You can contact them from their website: https://oceanplayersclub.com/

Good luck.

We have received casino offers - however haven't received an email since September.

Anyways, does anyone know if you book a cruise from a casino offer (free cabin or with a small fee) if you can apply shareholder benefits as well if you own Carnival shares?  We are thinking about purchasing shares.

Complimentary casino cabin NO shareholder benefit.

A discounted cruise, say 30% off or similar, I think so.

Yes - I only get discounts after the generous 'free' stateroom days last year. We book with discount and then can apply shareholder OBC.

As I mentioned previously, the "free cabin" offers are nice, but there are some drawbacks.  First, you cannot combine it with most other HAL promotions (Stockholder, Thank you for sailing, etc).  Second, you normally have to book only a guarantee cabin.

For our Fall 2023 cruise I ended up taking the casino rates and a variety of other perks and felt that it was a better deal than the free cabin.  Of course, this varies by cruise, so do the homework for yourself and judge.

My wife will play slots for about 30 - 60 minutes  on about 2/3  the nights of the sailing : she plays "penny" slots at 40-50 cents per pull.    I might play the same time on roulette at $5 - $10 per spin.  We always receive free play offers at the end of the cruise and have received a few "free" cruise offers for inside, ocean view and balcony cabins ( although we haven't received one of those offers recently).

That is true but if you purchase Club Orange you are able to select your cabin with the free cruise offer.

Which adds to the cost of the free cabin.  One more thing to add to the equation.

We never receive emails, but noticed about 20 free stateroom or $200 deals while searching the HAL website. I was told today that another list is coming out tomorrow Dec 20th and yet another list on Dec 29th. For us they are free inside staterooms most over the next few months.

Thanks for your note about searching the website. I haven't been able to find that. Was that by trying dummy bookings (which I've tried), or through other means? If other means, would you mind letting us know?

By some glitch in the system we don't receive the e-mails. We have tried multiple times to get this corrected. However when we search cruises on HAL site signed in under my wife's name (she is the gambler) the deals show up. They will mostly show up as a $200 fare. When you do a mock booking it will show up which level of stateroom is free. You will pay $200 pp plus port charges at time of booking and you will receive $200 pp onboard credit. The onboard credit will not show up when doing the mock booking. This is how it works for us. We then call the casino reservation number and book the cruise through them.

new to this thread - what website? I had a casino offer for a free balcony and paid to upgrade but did it all on the phone. I'd like to not do that again because it has been an unholy pain to get anything answered since

Call the HAL number 800-355-3017 and press 0 to get the operator.  Then ask to be assigned a Personal Cruise Consultant.  IMO, much easier to deal with them.

Interesting: I've found that when I hold or press 0 and speak to whoever answers, I often get better results than when I try to get my PCC, either by phone or email. Sometimes the person who answers isn't a PCC, but someone with a lot of knowledge.

My last come back and sail offer was no cabin and $750 in free play. I prefer a free cabin since it gets you on a ship. I played every night for  about 2 hours a night both tables and machines and accumulated 3400 points on a 7 day cruise, oh I only played 6 nights since we had a late port call one evening. I think since bookings have rebounded, free cabin offers will become harder to get

I got the same thing.  I earned about 4500 points.  And, you are right, I am getting lousy offers!  They seemed very disorganized too.  I had a free drink package that I practically had to beg to use.  After several days of arguing with them, they finally took the charges off my account.  Then they said that it was just for me.  So, I guess that my Husband was supposed to watch me drink.
