bfgood2 Posted July 10, 2022 #1 Share Posted July 10, 2022 It seems to be buried on the HAL website, if it's even posted, but I can't remember all the rules for using the dollars we have in OBC. Gratuities, special dining, beverage purchases or wine packages, shore excursions and purchases in the shops I think are all allowed. Am I missing something? Thanks. Rare BermudaBound2014 Posted July 10, 2022 #3 Share Posted July 10, 2022 How you can use the OBC is dependent on where you got the OBC from. Refundable OBC (typically from a travel agent) can be used on most things including gratuity. Non-Refundable OBC (typically from HAL) has limits. Basically, the way I remember is that I can use cruise line OBC on things that the cruise line makes a profit on (beverages, casino, tours, etc...) Typically you can not use cruiseline obc for gratuity. HAL does not allow any OBC to be used on pre-cruise purchases.

The loyalty credits are specifically marked that way on our statement with something like “not for cash or casino’. HAL has gotten much better at tracking it. I have used it for the crew incentive, HSC or gratuity - whatever you like to call it.
