Tipping OTHER than food service and room attendants

Recommended Posts

OK, I don't want to start yet another heated tipping thread. I'm not a fan of tipping in general, but try to follow what is the standard practice. Do people tip employees other than food/bar/room service and room attendants? What about the guys on the Flowrider, the bumper cars, the lifeguards, IFLY, etc? Who else should I expect to tip to follow convention?

Thanks!

Captain

Engineering crew

Safety/security team

The person keeping you healthy by wiping down railings

The people who keep the plumbing working! (no handshaking)

The ice cream server, if you request two cones

The former CEO of RCG

Lifeguards (should be given one of those high chairs)

CocoCay tram drivers

CocoCay dancers

The washy washy guy/gal at the buffet

If you fly, the pilot and stewardess

If you stayed in a hotel, the receptionist/desk person

Your emed proctor

I'm a terrible person, I know there may be 20 or 30 I left out.

Maybe the washy washy duo, they do sing you a song.

I always pick up a few extra envelopes at  Guest Services and return them to the box they have for gratuities.  There is always someone who stands out.

Last cruise it was Alfredo, the guy cleaning the decks in the Solarium on Mariner. Their hot tub bubbler has a button that doesn't always work unless you know the magic - and he knows the magic. So he made our trip better by mashing the button the right way when he saw us struggling with it.

It's completely up to you.

I tip my hat

I take my trash to the tip

I buy my Q-Tips at Publix

and here is a tip, don’t believe what people tell you on a tipping thread.

Cow tipping is also very popular

Always carry a wallet with around 100 1,s

and remember to tip $1 per drink

We like to tip the folks who work in the shops where no one buys anything.

It’s a grind for them

YMMV
