Hi. Can anyont tell me, other than price the difference between a prime, a deluxe or an ordinary cabin of the same type?

It is location, to what they deem as being the best is Prime, then Deluxe & ordinary, size of cabin is not different but balcony may be larger & in ordinary it may be partially obstructed but not always.

And to confuse it even more there’s soon to be an Ultra Deluxe Veranda cabin (the current Family Ocean View with Veranda).

As if there wasn't enough to confuse all of us, the new cabin categories will make it more difficult to figure things out.  I think the bottom line is that they are now pricing cabins according to what they consider to be the best location, have a slightly better balcony, sell the quickest, etc.

It's always been somewhat this way, but they've taken it to a new level, further complicating the understanding of cabin selection.  With the exception of suites and insides, the majority of the rest of the cabins on the ship are very close to the same size.  So the new system is more about which cabins sell quickly and their location on the ship (i.e. hump cabins on the S-class ships, for example).  At least that's my guess.
