Casino bar, trellis bar, rising tide, dazzles and finally the Schooner….

here we are pretty damn proud of ourselves that us 60 year olds outlasted the 20 something’s 💪

In my opinion, 20 somethings are weak when it comes to alcohol.  Experience is everything.  Not sure if that says something bad about 20 somethings or about me. 😁

When did bingo get so confusing? And expensive? Oh yeah, seemingly because it’s been 15 years since or so since I played…..

On my last Allure cruise I looked forward to bingo. I walked in saw the prices and left.

- The forward elevators are significantly less congested than the mid ship elevators. Literally never waited for an elevator for more than a minute or two….

Mid ship…. Waited sometimes 3-4 packed elevators worth of people before giving up and taking the stairs…..

- worst view ever when you realize you took the wrong set of elevators to your cabin

@niksmom630 Thanks so much for your review. I loved your perspective. My wife and I have booked a GS on Deck 6 to celebrate our 50th anniversary next year. Since all the GSs are stacked near the rear elevators, it was just a choice of which deck (and make sure we didn't have a connecting cabin). We chose Deck 6 since it's only 2 decks up to CP and 3 of the specialty restaurants; we're on the same deck as the Boardwalk along with its attractions and the AquaTheatre, then only 1 deck down to the Promenade and 2 decks down to the "entertainment" area. We can take the stairs to all those venues. We're going to need to take the rear elevators to get to SL and CK... unless we "royal up" to a CLS. But, at our age, the stairs in the CLS could become problematic over the course of the week, not to mention having to take the rear elevators to go down to most other venues. Many thanks!

My time dining update….. there are actually three podiums to check in.

-one for reservations

- one without reservations

-one for suites

didn't notice the suite line until last night, because there was no line there 😊 so, perhaps MTD lines won’t be bad if you are in a suite

@niksmom630, do you happen to remember if the suite line for MTD was just for GS and up, or is there any chance JS was included as well! I’m expecting to hear GS and up only. It isn’t going to matter to us since we’ve already moved to traditional late on our next cruise. I haven’t changed the dining on our April cruise yet, so it could be a factor there.

Hi Dave,

Thank you! We had a grand suite on allure a few years ago for my husbands 60th bday--and we loved it and the location. It was also on deck 6.

My advise on Deck 8 cabins it really more for consideration if you are in a standard oceanview balcony cabin--And you are right--Deck 6 is always better for walking.

We also had a crown loft on Allure once.  While the accommodations are nice, its just too far away from everything, and so lots of riding the elevator.  In addition, you will love the larger balcony on the Grand Suite, particularly on sea days, because you can escape the masses on your roomy private balcony!

I think my least favorite location was on Deck 11.  Granted, we had an owners suite which was better than fabulous, but pretty much an elevator ride EVERYWHERE.....

Not sure--but I did take note that it didn't say Suites "and Pinnacle"

If I had to guess, I'd think it wouldn't include Sea Class, but I could be wrong!

Wow! i love the Solarium , very beautiful area of the

ship, but one too many people in the spa for this cruise.

I counted at least 40…my brother and I were on the Symphony of the Seas in early July and it wasn’t any different…we waited until 5 pm to enter when people were getting ready for dinner.

@Sea Dog, we’ll be getting off of Harmony on September 18 and I can guarantee you that I’ll be looking for a cure for my post cruise depression 😢. I’m sure your review will be just what I need, so I’ll definitely be there!

the schooner turned out to be a good spot to end the mini crawl because we had a good view of the promenade activities

The whole experience just wasn’t great. 😐

first we got the bread….. then 10 minutes later, the oil and Balsamic, then another 5 minutes before he brought the Parmesan…

our waiter seemed frantic and rushed. When Nicole asked for his recommendation on the pasta dishes, he recommended the linguini and clams.

she said “ok, anything other than the one with clams”

his response “I don’t like pasta, but anything you choose will be good.”

wonder who thought it was a good idea to assign this guy to the Italian eatery? 🤷🏼‍♀️

ooooookayyyy….. then she asked for an espresso  martini…. He said “ok, but just so you know it’s going to take a long time because I have to go to two different places”

so she says, “  oh ok, that’s ok, I don’t need one”

I think he regretted his statement, because then he hurried away mumbling that he would get it.

so, it’s a Thumbs down on Giovanni’s from me  👎

I just got off the Liberty and Giovanni's was the worst for me too. Similar experience, everything I got (which was what the waiter recommended) was awful and I could cook something better at home (And I am a terrible cook!)

Also every time I ordered a drink at a restaurant of any kind, it was a big to do. One time ordered a san pellegrino and got a coke lol.
