You watch a video, report to your mister station, the crew member scans your card to show you were there.  Easy.

Note that you must watch the video, otherwise, your TV is locked and you will not be able to watch anything else until you watch that video.  LOL

My stateroom TV had been disconnected by someone using their own DVD player on the preceding cruise.  After several engineers tried to troubleshoot my TV, my Room Steward appeared at 6:30 and connected the cable in the back of the TV. 

 

I watched the safety video long after the ship departed San Diego and shortly thereafter, a letter from the Captain about my failure to watch the video appeared in my mail box.

How do they know you actually watched it as opposed to just ignoring it while keeping the tv on?

Well our go to plan is for me to unpack and he watches.  I haven’t seen the program yet.  Everyone has a job, you know.  What I find weird is my muster station is always the dining room. Eat before you jump ship🤷‍♀️

There is a video camera attached to the TV. It has the ability to track your eyeballs to ensure you are watching the video and not unpacking or napping.
