mafig Posted September 6, 2022 #26 Share Posted September 6, 2022 DH did not like Blu, so we booked a lot of Concierge cabins. It helped us get to Elite...which got us to Diamond on Royal C.....and also got us to Black (Diamond) on MSC.😄

I forgot to mention the afternoon snacks. We ate four olives. Again, we’re Celebrity fans but won’t do CC again. perhaps the menu was hidden in the pile of papers. Even then only if it's a cheap upgrade, on our Trans-Pacific from Vancouver we paid 💲25 for the cabin for the whole trip. In my case the upgrade was another $100 canadian for 10 nights. It was 50 CC points for this sailing and another 2 before I reach Elite +.

goofysmom99 Posted September 6, 2022 #30 Share Posted September 6, 2022 I don't care about the perks and don't need the points. Like others have mentioned, I book concierge strictly for cabin location (usually means C1).
Purplsmurf Posted September 6, 2022 #31 Share Posted September 6, 2022 Our last 2 cruises were Concierge and our next is as well. The only reason we booked concierge is because it was actually cheaper than a regular veranda so it was a no brainer. Would I pay more for it? No.

Boiler Fan Posted September 6, 2022 #33 Share Posted September 6, 2022 They main reason we choose Concierge is for cabin location. We have enjoyed the hump cabins on several cruises and like the midship location of the other Concierge cabins. Also enjoy the robes, the bubbly on embarkation day, the footstools for the balcony lounge chairs, and the special waiting area on disembarkation day. Not huge stuff, but worth it if the price isn't too much higher.

ChampagneandFanfare Posted September 6, 2022 #36 Share Posted September 6, 2022 Most cruises we end up on a S-Class ship (Just because of route offered at the time I want to go) and As such I can get a real balcony for concierge so its a definite plus (I really dislike the big window "virtual" balconies and if that was all Celebrity offered, I would choose a different line). The 5 points is useful to me since I am Elite and getting close to Elite Plus, but otherwise don't see much advantage.

sherylc Posted September 6, 2022 #38 Share Posted September 6, 2022 We ended up booking concierge for the first time this coming March. It happened to be the ONLY balcony cabin left on the ship. We did take one in between the suites so get a longer balcony and a very slightly larger room. We are already elite and bought the all inclusive package, so not really expecting much difference from a balcony. Don't know the price difference since the sailing remains sold out. I don’t know. We’re new to this, but our friends claim it has hot items with the implication that standard categories do not. We’re coming from the Disney experience where room service breakfast were only cold items and the lunch and dinner menus were basically a bad burger, a club, or dried out pasta with runny sauce. Me, I prefer heading up to the buffet to have a little bit of everything, but they are nesters.
Rare Fly and Sail Posted September 6, 2022 #40 Share Posted September 6, 2022 I shouldn't have spoken too soon. So I'm currently considering to extend another week on the EDGE as the itinerary is really nice next week. Aqua Class is totally sold old but I can get concierge for $140 or a simple Veranda for $0 plus tax through casino deals. Is it even worth the few peanuts? It would help towards Elite Plus. Currently sitting at 400 points and 32 nights in Aqua booked during 2023. But in the end I'm really just paying for a shiny plastic card with zero benefits. Business nr one is always to cancel the delivery of the canapees that rot away in the cabin all afternoon without cooling.

Save the $140 or can just Venmo it to me if you want to get rid of $140. 1

Was I jealous when roll call friends in that cabin class got to experience departing NYC harbor just as the lights of the city came on! IDK if that is still a perk of being in a CC cabin, but one that IMHO is worthwhile! Different groups get the sail-in or sail-away helipad opportunity; suites, Elite or Elite+, Concierge… It doesn’t always happen, depending on port, weather, timing, etc. On Summit recently we had a Captain’s Club invite and a Concierge invite, And for one passage, everyone was welcome to go out on the helipad. In general, sailing Concierge, I expect at least one helipad visit each cruise. Edited September 7, 2022 by GottaKnowWhen

The lunch on boarding was nice but not essential. The ‘concierge’ was uncontactable. The shower head was the same as a regular cabin. The toiletries were the same. The robes were the same. The room service menu was the same. We had gold key cards and will hopefully get extra CC points. We got binoculars, an umbrella and a slightly larger balcony but that’s about it. So in my view it’s not worth it. It hasn’t put us off Celebrity though. Do others feel the same? Honestly feel it depends on the price point and the class of ship A lot of times the price difference is not that large per night over a veranda. In that case the extra points are nice if you are chasing a level. Also, on the M class ships, the Concierge Class is about 30 SQFt bigger. I think the breakfast Room Service is a little bit expanded.
Mississippian Posted September 7, 2022 #47 Share Posted September 7, 2022 14 hours ago, Fly and Sail said: Not worth a dime. Aqua Class or plain Veranda. Oh for Pete's sake, it's worth a dime. I value the ability to have a seated lunch embarkation day at $20. The free bottle of wine is worth something. The extra Captain's Club points are worth something. The better cabin locations are worth something. Priority boarding (and debarking) and dining times are worth something. I've booked it for the first time and am looking forward to the daily canape tray, although I've read the negative comments, and am aware that I could just go to the buffet and make my own snacky-snack tray. I frequently see CC offered for very little extra money, and sometimes see it offered for LESS than a standard balcony. I think it's a good deal if cheap, not so much if a substantial surcharge.

I actually looked at and wanted Aqua Class but by the time I booked, they were all gone. I check almost every day but alas, nothing. Rather eat in Sp Restaurants or MDR
Rare Stealthdog Posted September 7, 2022 #50 Share Posted September 7, 2022 We have sailed Aqua class on every sailing before, but Celebrity has priced us out of it now. We decided to go with Concierge for our Dec sailing on the Beyond (originally Veranda, but repriced for cheaper with concierge). It was about half the price of Aqua (with the sail only rate) and we still get the same number of Club points per day, the daily canapes, and the crappy champagne. With all the different dining options on the Beyond we didn't think we would miss the dining in Blu that much, and with the money saved we can just buy passes to the Thermal Suite. I'll withhold judgement until December.
