FSHLOT Posted October 25, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2022 Not sure if they automatically take the tip out. But they will accept cash (If you happen to have any on you at the time).☺️
nwcruiselover Posted October 25, 2022 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2022 (edited) I would tip $2.00 a drink. Edited October 25, 2022 by nwcruiselover

mz-s Posted October 25, 2022 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2022 The casino covers gratuities. Tips above and beyond are optional and not expected. I tip $1 per drink personally, in cash. Everyone should decide what works for them.
Frank12 Posted October 25, 2022 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2022 We have been getting the drinks on us while gambling in the casino for the past 2 years. I can tell you this...the service is much better and faster if you throw the server a buck or 2 for each drink. They will seek you out!😜
sgttami Posted October 25, 2022 #7 Share Posted October 25, 2022 I always tip in cash with DOU everywhere and tend to tip more when drinking in the casino because that's where I usually am and dealing with the same servers for the whole cruise.

Last cruise I got $100 in one's and made sure to spread them around the ship. It was a lot of fun, and a lot of free drinks, though some went to restaurant servers, cabin steward, porters, etc.
Rare BlerkOne Posted October 25, 2022 #9 Share Posted October 25, 2022 If you want the servers to fight over you, spread some cash around.
Rare EngIceDave Posted October 25, 2022 #10 Share Posted October 25, 2022 I put $1-2 on the ticket I have to sign. Amount depends on the drink. .Bottle of water to bartender vs waitress and a poured beverage, for example.

Joebucks Posted October 26, 2022 #16 Share Posted October 26, 2022 You're already spent thousands to get your free drinks. You might as well tip the extra $2 to get drunk faster and forget the money you're spending. 1

John Heald said that any time you give someone a tip it goes directly to them. And that’s been told to me by bar waiters before. Tips may have been divided in the past but my understanding is now they are kept by the individual bar waiter.

According to several casino servers and confirmed by a casino supervisor, sail and sign tips go directly to the casino servers who served you. This is why when you tip $2/drink instead of $1/drink, the servers gravitate around you like planets around the sun. Or flies around... well, you know.

MrMarc Posted October 26, 2022 Author #22 Share Posted October 26, 2022 According to my PVP the 18% (or at least something) is paid by the casino, so will tip the same as if I had purchased the package. I tend to tip $2.

What they do is have a story about "that guy", like bad guest bingo. $2 bill are a pain for them, can't be used in most ports. Likely pass them around (crew tip out other crew for services onboard ) like a white elephant gift.

Say what you want, I've never had anyone complain or wrinkle their nose to a $2 bill, hell by the 3rd day in the casino they were all looking for me saying $2 bills were lucky. $2 bills are legal US currency why would they not be able to use them in port? Because other countries aren't US, $2 bills are considered unlucky, port vendors don't consider them real.
