Rare markeb Posted October 31, 2022 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2022 Are you cruising from the UK? I've not cruised X from the UK. On RC, there were kettles on UK cruises, and there were reports of people having kettles delivered to their cabins from other ports of origin (they didn't take them off the ship, but they did take them out of the cabin). I "believe" I've read on this board of people having kettles on X ships as well, but someone will almost certainly confirm that or tell me I'm an idiot... No to coffee makers. Maybe the high level suites, but otherwise no. And yes, it will be confiscated if you bring your own.
Lindypops Posted October 31, 2022 Author #3 Share Posted October 31, 2022 We are sailing out of Fort lauderdale . yes you alway get or can request a kettle on European sailings. Northern Aurora Posted October 31, 2022 #4 Share Posted October 31, 2022 I have sailed out of the UK on Celebrity. Once we were on a B2B2B2B. The first leg was a transatlantic, and there were no electric kettles. The last three legs were out of Southampton, and we had kettles delivered to cabins for those legs. They just appeared magically on the first turnaround day.

There are a few reports of getting one. Lindy - you are on a US sailing, not a European one. Was also told no sailing out of Venice, Civitavecchia and Barcelona. Coffeemakers have never seen one except in the upper few suites. Good luck.
travlr21 Posted October 31, 2022 #7 Share Posted October 31, 2022 We were in a Celebrity Suite on the Eclipse to Alaska in June. We requested a coffee maker, and as I expected, we did not get one. Just thought it would be worth a try to ask. They did bring us a kettle, which we did not use since we are not into instant coffee.
upwarduk Posted October 31, 2022 #8 Share Posted October 31, 2022 I have asked for a kettle in the Caribbean. Initially, I was told no, they were in storage in Miami, but when we went back to the room there was one plus a tea tray with milk, sugar, and sachets of coffee & tea.
bigbenboys Posted November 1, 2022 #9 Share Posted November 1, 2022 Our friends from the UK asked their butler for a kettle setup on our June Alaska cruise on Millie. It was not a problem.
wineoclock Posted November 1, 2022 #10 Share Posted November 1, 2022 Just off Apex in a CS. I requested a kettle & fresh milk was delivered every other day. I had taken my own tea bags.
Rare DaKahuna Posted November 2, 2022 #11 Share Posted November 2, 2022 We get the kettle and take tea bags and instant coffee with us. Our tea bags usually go unused as we both really enjoy the Tea Forte they have on the ship. As for instant coffee, I never liked it until I tried some of this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BCMQGJGF? Just need to remember to pick up a double shot of Bailey's and put in the cooler before going to bed.
