We leave next week on Westerdam.

Just preparing all my P2 masks for the tenders and hand gel etc.

I was also going to pack surgical masks but not sure how many and if the ship supply them ?

Thanks

You might be better asking the question on HAL board of CC.

I suggest asking in this thread. The OP is currently on Westerdam and has been happy to answer questions from what I have read.

Sorry, I  just thought things might be different for Australian ships.

I am trying to delete the post but I can't seem to!

No worries.

As Les (NSWP) said - enjoy your cruise. I'll be getting on when you get off, so make sure to bring her back in one piece 🙂

I am sure Westerdam will have masks, Princess does. Just bring some with you. Enjoy your cruise.

That depends. Certainly was the case for Coral, but the states dropped the mandate for masks on cruise ships a couple of weeks ago.

Unlike Coral, we had no masks waiting for us in our cabin. I am sure if we asked, we could have got some, but I would no longer take it as a given that they will be supplied on demand on healthy ships.

Will be interesting what covid tier Westerdam is when she arrives here.  Bearing in mind is she is coming  loaded from USA.

She will be in Cairns tomorrow. She will be reporting to QLD authorities this afternoon, but I haven't heard of any issues.

We are currently on the Noordam with an expected arrival in Brisbane on the 8th.
my cabin steward has left surgical masks for us a few times and there was a pack waiting when we boarded. Captain said covid numbers are low, whatever that means. I can honestly say I have not heard a lot of coughing etc.

Many but not all passengers are wearing masks in public areas.

Following quote is from the Westerdam on-board report I mentioned in post #3:

Covid Report as of 11/3/22 @ 4:30pm in Cairns

The Captain just announced that our Covid numbers are down 7 people:  40 passengers and 3 crew.

We have a decreasing trend which is very good.

That fits with the tier 1 showing on NSW cruise page.

Most likely pick up a fresh load on arrival the way things are going lately.
