slk1000 Posted December 12, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2022 I'm going to sailing on the Edge soon as part of a Blue Chip free veranda offer. I was wondering if this offer always includes free drinks while gambling in the casino or does that need to be stated in the offer. I don't see that listed as a benefit but have seen free drinks while in the casino mentioned quite a bit with these offers. I appreciate your thoughts. Rare mahdnc Posted December 12, 2022 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2022 I don't believe the offer includes free drinks. However free drinks are offered in the casino to "active" players.

I just got off the Edge several weeks ago and while I do not drink, several slot players near me on a couple of different days, commented on how far and few between the cocktail severs appeared. I had not really noticed because I don't drink, but once they commented on it, it defintely was obvious.

jagoffee Posted December 18, 2022 #10 Share Posted December 18, 2022 A friend of my just received this offer and scanned to UR code for details, it does state free drinks while gambling. I did not realize he was such a a large gambler. He plays about $50 a roll everyday for several hours. Does the BCC allow you to upgrade to the AI for an extra cost or do you have to buy each item individually. Also might the BCC allow you to uograde (at an extra cost) to a suite? If yes, does the suite booking include the standard expand perks (the old indulge package and OBC)? I know it includes the retreat sundeck, Lounge, and Luminae. Thank you. Everyone playing receives free drinks. $20/night aqua class upgrades are available for some, otherwise while suites upgrades are available, never seen them offering any kind of deal and there are many datapoints who stated the casino rate was more than booking directly with X

Some high rollers (they play for hours and bet over a hundred a hand) reports they get perks in their offer yet they’re probably already receiving them from their casino status making offer perks a moot point

BCC are assigned cabin inventory based on internal sales metrics. Generally in order to upgrade a particular BCC comped cruise offer BCC will reprice the new cabin Category with the casino rate for that cabin and then deduct the internal value of your comped cabin offer. For example, if you were offered a comped IV cabin and you wanted to upgrade to a Sky Suite BCC will take the casino rate of the cabin, let's say $8,000,and deduct the internal value of the comped IV cabin, let's say $500. As my example shows, the value of your comped cabin isn't the retail value but an internal value that's much, much less. So if you were thinking that the upgrade should only cost $3000,for example, it could actually cost you $7500. This is why people say to upgrade a comped cabin is not necessarily a good value than paying for it directly. 1

I agree with everything except for possibly the following as I have direct experience…Multiple times I have received a comped balcony offer, I call to see if there’s a reasonable upgrade fee to a sky suite and the casinos sail only offer has been more expensive than booking X’s AI rate directly
jagoffee Posted December 18, 2022 #17 Share Posted December 18, 2022 Thank you to everyone for the information. Hopefully my last question. If you receive the free veranda offer for cruise only, you cannot just pay the difference between a Cruise Only rate and the AI to receive the AI? You were need to purchase the Beverage Package, Internet, and gratuities at their individual price?

The only other way involves, as I said, a total repricing of the cabin.

I personally utilize my status for the 5-7pm happy hours but was told if you want drinks, sit a penny slots machine closest to the bar, that way you’re always in path of the drink servers; if it’s really slow the bartender may be the only drink server and you can order directly from them assuming they see you playing

We are doing a cruise only next March and will spend a little time in casino for a few comp drinks .I have never played penny slots but that is a great strategy. Momperson3 Posted December 19, 2022 #22 Share Posted December 19, 2022 well drinks package is crazy $$$ However, she did tell me A. you drink free in casino (as long as you are playing) and B. There is something called sip and save---its 29.99 for 5 drinks (plus 20% tip) (up to $9) and you can spread this out over several days if you want. You buy on board---and ask bartender for it. This is the way we will be going. I also read that there's beer specials???? Asked about upgrading to Blu--- sold out---so we will stay where we are at. 2
